He was buried in Old Washington Cemetery, Wills Township, Guernsey County. Robert married Margaret Jane LEES 11 December 1970 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Margaret was born 5 March 1877 in Irwin, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Ambrose and Mary Ann (Donaldson) Lees. She died 12 March 1924 in Guernsey County at age 47, and was buried in Old Washington Cemetery. After Margaret’s death Robert married Alma Baker WRIGHT.

201 i. Wade6 VANCE was born 2 January 1909 in Pennsylvania, and died 13 March 1957 at age 48. He was buried in Old Washington Cemetery, Wills Township, Guernsey County, Ohio. Circa 1919 in Guernsey County Wade married Golda O. [--?--] who was born in 1912 in Ohio and died in 1955 at age 43. She was buried in Old Washington Cemetery. Wada and Golda may have had a son Donald born in 1930 and died in 1948 at age 18 who also was buried in Old Washington Cemetery.
202 ii. Marian VANCE was born 22 March 1916 in Pennsylvania.
140. Robert Frank5 KIMBALL (John4, Elizabeth3Vance, John William2, Robert1) was born 16 December 1868 in Monroe Township, Guernsey County, Ohio. He died 27 April 1932 in Cambridge, Guernsey County at age 63, and was buried in Northwood Cemetery in Guernsey County.
Robert married first Hattie Rebecca YEO 24 December 1889 in Guernsey County. She was born in 1867 in that county, the daughter of James M. and Mary Rebecca (Johnson) Yeo. Hattie died 12 July 1894 at age 27, and was buried in Old Cambridge Cemetery, Guernsey County. Robert married second Mary A. MILLER 18 March 1897. She was born 8 September 1861 and died 16 April 1924 at age 62. The couple had no children. On 17 December 1924 Robert married third Arrena Dowran KNOUFF who was born circa 1871 in Ohio.

203 i. Arthur Halton6 KIMBALL was born 19 March 1892 in Cambridge, Guernsey County, Ohio. He married his second cousin once removed, Hazel Catherine VANCE (see 160 below), daughter of James Elmer Vance and Mary Eliza Roller, 14 March 1923 in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. Arthur, who served in World War I and was a policeman, died 26 March 1976 in Cambridge at age 84. Hazel, who was born 4 August 1899 in Guernsey County, died 5 April 1989 at age 89, and was buried in Northwood Cemetery, Guernsey County.
146. Charles W.5 VANCE (Hiram4, John3, John William2, Robert1) was born in 1869 in Ohio and circa 1897 married Margaret E. OWENS who was born in February 1877 in Canada to an English father and Irish mother. Her family emigrated to the United States in the early 1880’s. Shortly after marrying, Charles and Margaret moved to Aetna, Lake County, Illinois where Charles was an acid mixer. In the early part of 1910 they returned to Ohio and settled in Urichsville, Mill Township, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. In the census for that year Charles was enumerated as proprietor of a restaurant. By 1920 he was listed as a teamster, and in 1930 worked in a pipe factory.

204 i. Earl W.6 VANCE was born circa 1903. He married first at age 19, or circa 1922, wife unknown, and then married second Bessie KILPATRICK who also had been married previously circa 1919 and had a son Harold Kilpatrick born circa 1924. Earl and Bessie likely married circa 1926. In the 1930 federal census they were enumerated in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio with Harold, and daughter Shirley Vance, age 3, and son Robert D. Vance, age 9 months in the household. Also in the household was Earl’s uncle Harry C. Wallace, a widower, age 44, and his daughter Ruth E. Wilson, age 19. Earl worked as an enameler in an automobile factory.

iv. Eurie Barrett VANCE was born 14 January 1899 in Lake County, Indiana, and died in June 1974 at age 75. His last known residence was Canton, Stark County, Ohio.
160. Hazel Catherine5 VANCE (James4, Joseph3, John2, Robert1) was born 4 August 1899 in Byesville, Jackson Township, Guernsey County, Ohio. She married her second cousin once removed Arthur Halton KIMBALL, son of Robert Frank and Hattie Rebecca (Yeo) Kimball, on 14 March 1923 in Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. (see #140 above) Hazel died 5 April 1989 at age 89 in Cambridge, Guernsey County, and was buried in Northwood Cemetery in that county.

207 i. Halton David6 KIMBALL was born 9 November 1923 and died 16 September 1998 in Cambridge, Guernsey County, Ohio at age 74. He married Barbara Ann STAGE.
208 ii. Bernard Arthur KIMBALL was born 23 April 1928 and died 23 March 2008 at age 70. He married Doris Geraldine ADAIR and they had one daughter.
209 iii. Kenneth Don KIMBALL was born 24 July 1929 and died 26 December 2002 at age 73. He married Wilma Yvonne ANDERSON and they had no children.

161. Mary Beulah5 VANCE (James4, Joseph3, John2, Robert1) was born 28 October 1902 in Guernsey County, Ohio, and died 27 July 1972 in Cambridge, Guernsey County at age 69. She was buried in Northwood Cemetery in that Guernsey County.
Mary married Cecil Grange MILLER 10 July 1922 in Guernsey County. Cecil was born 25 February 1902 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, the son of Dr. Otis and Mrs. Margaret Tacy (Wells) Miller. He died in 1985 in Guernsey County, Ohio at age 83.

Circa 1906 he married Julia Mae TAYLOR who was born circa 1883 in Ohio. In the 1920 and 1930 federal censuses they were living in New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas County, Ohio where Oliver was a carpenter.

170. Clarence Edison5 VANCE (Jesse4, Robert3, Robert2, Robert1) was born 18 October 1889 in Guernsey County, Ohio, and died 6 December 1987 in Franklin County, Ohio at age 98. He was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Washington Township, Guernsey County. Circa 1910 Clarence married Minnie Florence INGLISH who was born 3 September 1893 in Londonderry Township, Guernsey County, the daughter of Joseph and Lillie (Morrison) Inglish. She died 30 November 1949 in Guernsey County at age 56, and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Clarence married second Ruth BUTLER.

222 i. Beulah M.6 VANCE was born 10 October 1910 and died in November 1991 at age 81. She married Samuel P. BEAR, the son of Sloan J. and Nansie E. Bear, who was born 18 August 1909 in Ohio and died 22 December 1990 at age 81. His last known residence was New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
223 ii. Evelyn Pauline VANCE was born 14 March 1917 and died in Cambridge, Guernsey County, Ohio 27 August 1984 at age 67. She was buried in Northwood Cemetery, Guernsey County. Evelyn married John Clark CROSSEN 19 October 1937. John was born 18 December 1909 in Guernsey County, the son of Ben P. and Mary L. Crossen. He died at the age of 80 on 6 May 1990 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio and was buried in Northwood Cemetery. John was an automobile mechanic and steam engine enthusiast.
224 iii. Marjorie VANCE was born 3 February 1919 and died 26 January 2006 in Franklin County, Ohio at age 86. She married Morris E. ALLTON, the son of Charles C. and Melissa S. Allton, who was born 23 February 1912 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and died in Franklin County at age 82 on 12 October 1994. The couple resided in Westerville, Franklin County, Ohio.
192. Estella Mae5 VANCE (John4, James3, James2Vance, Robert1) was born 17 June 1881 in Springhills, Champaign County, Ohio. She died 17 April 1948 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 66. The cause of death was acute hepatitis, chronic interstitial nephritis and chronic deforming arthritis. Stella, as she was known, was buried 19 April 1948 in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County. Stella married Estie Clyde PEARSON 17 May 1898 in Kentucky. She was indentured at age 14 to Benjamin Pearson , the grandfather of her future husband.
Clyde, as he was called, was born 14 August 1878 in Monroe Township, Miami County, the son of Davis and Deborah (Davis) Pearson. He died 18 July 1965 in Miami County at age 86, and was buried 21 July 1965 in Curtis Cemetery.

225 i. Lottie Mae6 PEARSON was born 19 February 1899 and died 31 December 1980 in Union Township, Miami County, Ohio at age 81. She was buried in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County. On 21 April 1921 in Miami County Lottie married Russell Curtis SHEARER, the son of Cornelius and Mary E. (Curtis) Shearer, who was born 25 April 1894 in Montgomery County, Ohio and died 27 October 1965 in Union Township, Miami County at age 71. He was buried in Curits Cemetery. The couple had a daughter Pauline Lucille who was born 26 June 1922 in Miami County and died 23 March 1969 in West Milton, Miami County at age 46. Pauline married Herman Duane KAUFFMAN, the son of Jesse W. and Glenna Elizabeth (Schelley) Kauffman, 18 October 1941, and they had three daughters. Herman was born 1 March 1921 in Miami County and died there 11 April 1995 at age 74. Pauline and Herman were buried in Curtis Cemetery.
226 ii. Edna Ozella PEARSON was born 24 May 1901. She died 20 July 1985 in Miami County, Ohio at age 84, and was buried in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township in that county. Edna married Paul SMITH, the son of Orrin Blaine and Gertrude G. (Genslinger) Smith, 28 August 1924 in Miami County. Paul was born 12 June 1902 in Casstown, Miami County. The couple divorced between 1927 and 1930 after which time Edna resided in West Milton, Miami County with their two sons. Paul was enumerated in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio in the 1930 federal census, a lodger and employee of National Cash Register Company. He remarried and died 1 November 1999 in Miami County at age 97.
227 iii. Charles Arthur PEARSON was born 4 February 1903 and died 13 January 1971 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 67. He was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Miami County. On 15 March 1924 in Miami County Charles married Eunice Mary PEIRCE, the daughter of Walter Clarence and Lois (Taber) Peirce, who was born 7 November 1906 in Concorc Township, Miami County. She died 20 January 1997 at age 90 in Miami County and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Among the couple's four children were daughter Margaret Lucille, born 9 May 1927 and died 11 April 2008 in Montgomery County, Ohio at age 80, who married Robert F. MARQUIS; and Douglas Gene, born 28 July 1928 and died 3 December 1985 in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois at age 57.
228 iv. Clara Fayetta PEARSON, who went by the name Fayetta or Faye, was born 29 September 1904 and died 27 January 1984 in Ohio at age 79. She was buried in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County. Faye married first Floyd BAKER between 1930 and 1940. Floyd, the son of Orville and Florence (Becker) Baker, was born 24 August 1902 in Ohio and died in Englewood, Montgomery County, Ohio 18 November 1943 at age 41. His death of carbon monoxide poisoning was ruled a suicide. Floyd was buried 21 November 1943 in Fairview Cemetery in Englewood. Faye married second Frederick W. TEBBE, Jr., who was born 31 March 1903 in Illinois, the son of Frederick W., Sr., and Charlotte (Peters) Tebbe. He was enumerated in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses in St. Joseph, Berrien County, Michigan and married first Anne Margaret Timmreck 22 April 1930 in Berrien County. Fred died 26 January 1963 in Ohio at age 59, and was buried in Curtis Cemetery.
229 v. Verna Elizabeth PEARSON was born 9 July 1907 and died 9 February 2002 in Covington, Miami County, Ohio at age 94. She married first John William ‘Bill’ STINE in May 1927 in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. Bill, the son of James F. and Emma J. (Hebb) Stine, was born 1 August 1907 in Miami County, and died 25 July 1975 at age 67 in Troy, Miami County. He was buried in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Miami County. Their children were Lee Wendall, born 3 April 1929 and died 20 February 2008 at age 79 who married Phyllis Jean BOATMAN; Billy Shryl; Barbara Carol; Darlene Faye; David Wayne; and Kathleen Sharon. Verna married second Clarence M. BRUBAKER who was born 13 June 1908 in Ohio and died in Troy 1 December 1999 at age 91. His first wife was Jennie M. Sherick and they were buried together in New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle, Clark County, Ohio
230 vi. Forrest Orville PEARSON was born 16 August 1912. He died 11 May 1986 at age 73, and was buried in Forest Hills Cemetery, Vandalia, Montgomery County, Ohio. Forrest married first Erma Myrtle HONEYMAN 7 February 1937 in Miami County, Ohio. She was born 28 May 1914 in Miami County, the daughter of Warren E. and Anna G. (Sayers) Honeyman, and died of post-operative pelvic peritonitis 3 June 1936 in Troy, Miami County at age 23. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery in Troy. Forrest married second Helen J. MANNING, the daughter of Fred A. and Mabel G. (Beemer) Manning, 11 November 1937 in Miami County and they divorced after having two children: Thomas Michael and Phyllis Ann. He married third Betty M. MCCONNAUGHEY 3 May 1952 in Tipp City, Miami County , Ohio. Betty was born in November 1928 in Urbana, Champaign County, Ohio, the daughter of Elza E. and Myrtie M (Cloyd) McConnaughey, and died 29 September 1990 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 61. Forrest and Betty had four children: Pamela Mae, Debby Sue, Deanna Tynan, and Bobbi Jo.
231 vii. Harold Robert PEARSON was born 26 May 1914, and married Mary Kathryn STEWART 11 June 1932 in Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky. She was born 29 May 1915 in Miami County, the daughter of William and Etta G. (Marsh)Stewart, and died there 16 December 2004 at age 89. Harold died 17 January 1983 in Miami County, Ohio at age 68, and was buried with Mary in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County. Their children were Joann Lee, Dean Gerald, Dennis Clyde, Robert Harold and Mark Edmond.
232 viii. Ruth Lorene PEARSON was born 3 August 1918 and died 27 November 1985 in Miami County at age 67. She was buried in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County. Ruth married Irwin William GIERHART. They had no children and divorced. Irwin was born 31 December 1906 in Licking County, Ohio, the son of William H. and Bessie L. (Amerine) Gierhart. He died 10 November 1984 in Ashland County, Ohio at age 77, and was buried in Pataskala Cemetery, Licking County with his first wife Josephine Lenora (Stump) Gierhart who died in an automobile accident.
233 ix. Roger Lee PEARSON was born 23 December 1919 and died 28 February 1995 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio at age 75. He was buried in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County, Ohio. Roger married Martha Louise PENSYL, the daughter of Jesse A. and Bertha E. (Setty) Pensyl, 4 August 1941 in Greenup, Greenup County, Kentucky. Their children were Marceille Louise, Jerry Lee, Alice Jeanette and Anna Marie.
234 x. Leroy PEARSON was born in 1906 and died at age six months.
235 xi. Margaret PEARSON was born in 1908 and died at age three days.
194. Bessie Florence5 VANCE (John4, James3, James2Vance, Robert1) was born 3 November 1883 in Springhills, Champaign County, Ohio, and died 30 January 1963 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 79. The cause of death was rectosigmoidal intestinal obstruction. She was buried 2 Febuary 1963 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County. After her mother died in October 1893, Bessie was placed along with her sisters Mellie, Learna and Mary in the Miami County Children’s Home 12 June 1894. She was indentured to John S. Routson of Bloomer, Newberry Township in Miami County on 3 February 1896 and discharged from the home.
Bessie married Christian Adam COOK 3 May 1903 in Miami County. Chris, as he was called, was born 21 April 1875 in Farmersville, Montgomery County, Ohio, the son of Ezra Oliver and Sarah (Stiver) Cook. He died in 1958 in Miami County at age 83, and was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery.

ROOT, the daughter of Cornelius M. and Jennie E. (Slyder) Root, who was born in August 1898 in Jackson Township, Montgomery County. She died 13 March 1965 in Dayton, Montgomery County at age 66, and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria, Preble County, Ohio. Their children were Glen Eugene, born in May 1928 and died 17 November 1968 at age 40; Kenneth Allen, born 29 May 1930 and died 6 March 2001 at age 70; and Charlotte. Theodore married secondVelma M. KARNS, the daughter of Alva Leroy and Ida Odessa (Bridges) Karns. She was born 4 October 1912 in Ohio and died 16 August 2006 at age 93 in Dayton.
238 ii. Carl Anderson COOK was born 11 April 1905 in Montgomery County, Ohio, and died 21 December 1973 in Tipp City, Miami County, Ohio at age 68. He was buried 23 December 1973 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County. Carl was a tool and die maker at Frigidaire in Dayton, Montgomery County. He married first 19 April 1930 in Miami County Helen Irene GRISE, the daughter of Reuben and Bertha (Fessler) Grise, who was born 17 August 1906 in Adams Township, Darke County, Ohio. She died of congestive heart failure 20 September 1945 in Piqua, Miami County at age 39, and was buried 23 September 1945 in Harris Creek Cemetery. The couple had a daughter Phyllis Lou. Carl married second Marian M. MACY, the daughter of Arthur H. and Anna M. (Eidemiller) Macy, who was married previously to [--?--] Snell. She was born 4 September 1910 in Montgomery County and died 18 June 1970 at age 59 in Troy, Miami County. Marian was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery..
239 iii. Viola Marie COOK was born 7 January 1907 in Ohio, and died 28 August 1978 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 71. She was buried in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, Miami County, Ohio. Viola married Jean Pearl MILLER 11 April 1936. He was born 23 October 1908, the son of James G. Miller who was widowed by 1910. Jean, a welder, died 20 August 1973 in Miami County at age 64, and was buried in Fletcher Cemetery. Viola and Jean Pearl had four children: Douglas Jean, Sandra Kay, Susan Irene and James Richard.
240 iv. Ezra Oliver COOK was born 2 December 1908 in Shelby County, Ohio, and died of a heart attack 26 April 1974 at age 65 in Miami County, Ohio. He was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Versailles, Darke County, Ohio. Ezra, a toolmaker for Frigidaire in Dayton, Montgmery County, Ohio, married Emma F. BURNS in 1929. She was born 28 July 1909 in Adams Township, Darke County, the daughter of Jacob C. ‘Jake’ and Mary (Shrader) Burns. Emma died 20 January 1995 at age 85, and was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery. Ezra and Emma had children Duane, Dwight and Diana.
241 v. Sarah Florence COOK was born 15 December 1910 in Miami County , Ohio, and died 20 July 1994 at age 83 in Montgomery County, Ohio. She was buried 23 July 1994 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County. Sarah hads three husbands: William SCANLON, Edward MCMANUS who she married circa 1935, and Harry MEYER. Her children were Donald Lee Scanlon, born 11 September 1934 and died 5 December 1968 at age 34 who married Virginia RIFFLE; and Sally Ann McManus, born 18 April 1936 and died 22 January 2005 at age 68, who married Richard MURCHLAND.
242 vi. Irene Alice COOK was born 22 November 1912 and died of pulmonary tuberculosis 6 January 1942 at age 29 in Dayton State Hospital, Montgomery County, Ohio where she was a patient.. She was buried 10 January 1942 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County, Ohio. Irene married and dfivorced Carl HARMON between 1930 and 1940. The name on her death certificate was Irene Alice Cook.
243 vii. Woodrow Wilson COOK was born 21 September 1914 in Potsdam, Miami County, Ohio. He died 25 April 1987 in Troy, Miami County at age 72, and was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County. Woodrow, who worked for the National Cash Register Company in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, married first Mary Lucille EVILSIZOR 2 August 1949 in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana. Mary was born 13 April 1919 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio, the daughter of Marshall and Lida Maude (Foose) Evilsizor. She died 8 January 1963 at age 43 in Montgomery County, and was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery. Woodrow and Mary had two daughters. On 8 August 1963 Woodrow married second Betty J. PONCHOT, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Derick) Ponchot, who was born in 1924 in Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky and died 7 June 1987 at age 63. She was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery.
244 viii. Henry Harrison COOK was born 7 May 1916 in Sidney, Shelby County, Ohio and died 12 January 1994 at age 77. He married Constance E. YORK 1 October 1949 in New Castle, Henry County, Indiana. Constance was born 27 July 1924 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, the daughter of Clarence William and Edna Sophia (Frewert) York. She died at age 79 on 10 February 2004 in Montgomery County. 246 x. Oran Everett COOK was born 21 February 1923 in Bradford, Miami County, Ohio, and died 26 February 2007 in Piqua, Miami County at age 84. On 1 February 1946 in Piqua Oran married June A. PALSGROVE, the daughter of Francis Floyd and Minnie (Bucholtz) Palsgrove. She was born 1 May 1923 in Bradford and died 1 June 2007 at age 84 in Piqua. Both Oran and June were buried in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County. The couple had a daughter Shirley Jo.
197. Curtis5 VANCE (John4, James3, James2Vance, Robert1) was born 22 September 1896 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio. He died 6 August 1990 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 93, and was buried 9 August 1990 in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County. Curtis was a farmer and for many years rented a farm on Furnas Road, outside the village of Frederick in Butler Township, Montgomery County, Ohio. In his elder years he was employed by Miller Brothers to do odd jobs at their facilities, including a drive-in theater and swimming pool they operated in Frederick.
Curtis married Lyda PENNY, daughter of Sylvester Henry and Martha Elizabeth (Lamsdale) Penny, on 2 March 1918 in Greenville, Darke County , Ohio. Lyda was born 10 April 1896 in Newton Township, Miami County. As recorded in county birth records her name was written Lydima, however in the 1900 census it was Liddie. On her marriage certificate and in the 1920 census it was Lydia. She was known as Lyda and that was the name that appeared on her death certificate. Lyda died of uremia at age 69 on 14 July 1965 in Troy, Miami County, and was buried 17 July 1965 in Curtis Cemetery.

247 i. Carl Cecil6 VANCE was born 28 December 1918 in Nashville, Miami County, Ohio, and died 10 October 1997 at age 78 in Troy, Miami County. He was buried 14 October 1997 in Polk Grove Cemetery, Vandalia, Montgomery County, Ohio. Carl, a plumber, married Charlotte Emma LEHWALD 3 July 1942 in Dayton, Montgomery County. Charlotte was born 3 February 1922 in Dayton, the daughter of Paul and Glenna Eleanor (Berg) Lehwald. She died 3 December 2003 at age 81 in Miami County, and was buried in Polk Grove Cemetery. Carl and Charlotte had daughters Kathleen Sharon and Carol Jean.
248 ii. Earl Henry VANCE, known as Bud, was born 23 October 1920 in Nashville, Miami County, Ohio and died 25 September 2016 in Brooksville, Hernando County, Florida at age 95. He married Evelyn SWADNER 18 October 1941 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. Evelyn was born 19 September 1921 in Dayton, the daughter of Roy Lesher and Clara May (Tingle) Swadner. Her brother Harold married her husband’s sister Mary Vance. (see #253 below). Evelyn died in Florida 1 June 2006 at age 84, and was buried in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Sumter County, Florida. Bud and Evelyn had children Terry Lee, Roy Curtis and Judith Ann.
249 iii. John Clarence VANCE was born 25 September 1922 in Butler Township, Montgomery County, Ohio. He died 24 July 1947 in Dayton, Montgomery County at age 24 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, and was buried 27 July 1947 in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County, Ohio.
250 iv. Pauline Lucille VANCE married Harold Edgar BAREFOOT. They had a daughter Rebecca Jean.
251 v. Dorothy Marie VANCE was born 31 August 1926 in Butler Township, Montgomery County, Ohio. She died of died kidney failure at age 86 on 27 June 2013 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio and was buried 1 July 2016 in Arlington Cemetery, Clay Township, Montgomery County. Dorothy married Herbert Franklin RHOADES 26 April 1947 in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana. Dusty, as he was known, was born 31 July 1919 in Liberty, Preble County, Ohio, the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Lang) Rhoades. A farmer and construction worker, he died 24 February 1983 in West Milton, Miami County, Ohio at age 63, and was buried 28 February 1983 in Arlington Cemetery. Dorothy and Dusty had a daughter Linda Marie and a son Steven Michael.
252 vi. Robert Eugene VANCE married Margaret Lucille MILLER 24 April 1954 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. She was born 29 December 1933 in Dayton, the daughter of Charles Haines and Marie (Good) Miller. Margaret died of breast cancer at age 68 on 5 December 2002 at her home in Miami County, Ohio. She was buried 9 December 2002 in Forest Hills Cemetery in Butler Township, Montgomery County. Robert and Margaret had a son Martin Eugene.
253 vii. Mary Elizabeth VANCE married Harold Lockwood SWADNER 24 April 1981 in Urbana, Champaign County, Ohio. Harold was born 30 May 1919 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio and died 7 May 2006 at age 86. He was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dayton. Harold was the son of Roy Lesher and Clara May (Tingle) Swadner, and brother to Evelyn who married Mary’s brother Earl Henry Vance. (see #248 above) He was married first 13 December 1941 in Dayton to Mary Jane Myers who died 27 June 1971. Harold and Mary Jane had one son, Sam, born 11 September 1942 in Dayton and died in that city 9 November 1944 at age 2. Harold then married second Phyllis Clark 17 November 1973 in Dayton. They divorced 29 December 1975.
254 viii. Victor Norman VANCE married Georgia Alberta LOVETT 7 May 1955 in Sidney, Shelby County, Ohio. Georgia was born 18 July 1936 in Sidney, the daughter of George Harvey and Mary Elsie (Evans) Lovett, and died 3 January 2005 at age 78 from complications of diabetes. They had daughters Vickie Jean and Rita Marie, and adopted a son Gordon Lee Vance, the biological son of Victor’s brother Donald Lee Vance.
255 ix. Donald Lee VANCE was born 1 September 1934 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, and died 17 January 2005 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 70. He was cremated and his remains interred in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County. Donald married first 1 June 1957 in Tipp City, Miami County, Ohio Mary Francis WALTERS who was born 20 January 1937. The couple had children Jeffrey, Gordon Lee, Toni and Lisa and divorced circa 1965. Mary married second Rex Hefelfinger and died 7 December 1995 at age 58. Donald married second 19 September 1969Evangeline BEATTY with whom he had a daughter Terry. Donald and Evangeline divorced in 1974.
256 x. Curtis VANCE, Jr. was born 20 June 1936 in Butler Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, and died 5 June 2013 of pancreatic cancer in Melbourne, Brevard County, Florida at age 76. He married first Mildred M. KRYMAN 16 September 1960 in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida and they had three children: Lori Ann, Curtis III and Jennifer Jo. Mildred was born 11 July 1939 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York, the daughter of William Frederick and Mildred Marie (Castner) Kryman, and married first Charles Dean. They had a daughter Caroline Ramona whom Curtis, Jr., later adopted. Curtis and Mildred divorced 14 May 1980 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio and she married third Carl Dwight Lacey 2 July 1990. Mildred died 18 July 2003 in Miami County at age 64, and was buried in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City, Miami County. Curtis married second Maria Antonia CACCIATORE 6 February 1982 in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida.
257 xi. Dean Richard VANCE was born 20 March 1938 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. He died of a heart attack 16 March 2015 at age 76 at his home at St. Paris, Champaign County, Ohio and was buried 20 March 2015 in Pleasant Hill Church of God Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Miami County, Ohio. Dean married Shirley Alice PRICE. They had children John Richard and Julie Renee.
258 xii. Patricia Irene VANCE married Dale NORTH 26 September 1959 in Tipp City, Miami County, Ohio. He was born 21 May 1934 in Lathrop, Athens County, Ohio, the son of Andrew Jackson and Mary Ellen (Hill) North. Dale died from complications of diabetes 13 March 2001 at age 66 in Troy, Miami County, and was buried 16 March 2001 in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Miami County. Patricia and Dale had children Pamela Sue, Jerry Lynn, Angela Kay, and Rachel Ann.
198. James Henry5 VANCE (John4, James3, James2Vance, Robert1) was born 19 March 1898 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio. He died of uremia 15 February 1966 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 67, and was buried 17 February 1966 in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton, Miami County, Ohio. Jim, as he was known, worked for Frigidaire in the household engineering division and retired in 1959.
Jim married Helen F. GEBHART 17 June 1919. She was born 24 November 1900 in Dayton, the daughter of Dovillo and Elizabeth Harriet (Riddle) Gebhart and died 25 February 1968 at age 67. Helenwas buried 28 February 1968 in Riverside Cemetery.

259 i. Dovillo James VANCE was born 8 January 1921 and died 5 October 2002 in Missouri at age 81. He was buried in Protem Cemetery, Protem, Taney County, Missouri. Dovey, as he was called, married Esther Dorothy EBERHARD 20 February 1944. She was born 22 December 1919 in Red Willow County, Nebraska. They had children Lee James, Gerald Alan, and Dennis Roger.
260 ii. Marian Arlene VANCE was born 8 July 1923 and died 29 December 1996 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 73. She was buried 3 January 1997 in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton, Miami County, Ohio. Marian married 5 November 1944 John Martin BURKE, the son of Alfred and Florence Burke. He was born 25 December 1924 in Arcanum, Darke County, Ohio, and died at age 72 on 25 December 1996 in Dayton. John was buried in Riverside Cemetery. They had children Larry Gene, who died before 1996; Michael Quenton; and Mary Helen.

262 iv. Anna Elizabeth VANCE was born 11 July 1927 and died 4 July 2000 in Montgomery County, Ohio at age 72. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton, Miami County , Ohio. Anna married Jerome MEICHER who was born 29 February 1920 in Prairie du Sac Township, Sauk County, Wisconsin, the son of William and Seraphine Meicher. He died 10 January 1984 in Montgomery County at age 63, and was buried in Riverside Cemetery. Anna and Jerome had a daughter Christina Gayle.
263 v. Paul Lynn VANCE was born 17 May 1930 and died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident 22 September 1997 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 67. He was buried 26 September 1997 in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton, Miami County, Ohio. Paul married first Marilyn Juanita PFEIFFER and had children Cheryl Diane, Joyce, Alan and Kelly. He married second Mary Ann NISWONGER who was married previously to Gary Roush. After Paul's death Mary Ann married second Millard Mikel. Paul was a farmer, tool maker, and founder and CEO of P.V.P., Inc. in West Milton.
264 vi. Dale Raymond VANCE was born 2 February 1932 and died 26 February 2006 at age 74 in Ottawa County, Ohio. He was buried in Oak Harbor Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Ottawa County. Dale opreated a campground in Port Clinton, Ottawa County. He married first 10 May 1955 in Babbes Point, Oahu, Hawaii Barbara May GEMIN, the daughter of John O. and Selma (Penny) Gemin, who was born 5 July 1935 in Montgomery County, Ohio. She died in Ottawa County 20 June 20004 a age 68, and was buried in Oak Harbor Cemetery. The couple had children Terry, Debbie, and Janet.
199. Elsie Jane5 VANCE (John4, James3, James2Vance, Robert1) was born 4 February 1900 in West Virginia. Her death certificate gives 1901 as the year of her birth, however she was enumerated in the 1900 federal census. It also states incorrectly that her father’s name was James Vance, not John Clarence. Elsie died of acute pulmonary edema, congestive heart failure 23 January 1972 at age 71 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, and was buried in Highland Cemetery, West Milton, Miami County, Ohio.
On 24 May 1922 in Ohio Elsie married Gainor Jennings WEAVER, a punch press operator, who was born 12 May 1896 in Miami County. The son of Jacob O. and Emma A. (Shelly) Weaver, he died 8 July 1960 in Dayton at age 64, and was buried in Highland Cemetery. Elsie and Gainor had a son Kenneth, born 22 September 1922 in Montgomery County, who married Martha Lee MARTIN. He died 30 July 1975 in Dayton at age 52. Kenneth and Martha had five children.
200. Edna Marie5 VANCE (John4, James3, James2Vance, Robert1) was born 15 July 1901 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio. She died of a cerebral hemorrhage one hour after the birth of a son on 11 November 1923 in West Milton, Miami County at age 22. Elsie was buried in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County.
On 31 January 1918 in Miami County Edna married Frank Parker APPLEGATE, the son of Stephen Herbert and Emma Alice (Kessler) Applegate, who was born 9 June 1897 in West Milton. He died 19 February 1965 in Montgomery County, Ohio at age 67, and was buried in Bear Creek Cemetery, Montgomery County. Frank was an employee of City Transit Company in Dayton for 32 years. After Edna’s death he married circa 1924 Pauline Delores Gibson, the daughter of James Blaine and Maud A. (Young) Gibson, who was born 15 December 1907 in Darke County, Ohio and died 14 May 1987 at age 79. She was buried in Bear Creek Cemetery. Frank and Pauline had children Rowena, James, Galen Oaks, Richard, and Delores.

266 i. Glenn M.6 APPLEGATE was born 16 September 1919 and died 13 September 1992 in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida at age 72. He was buried 22 September 1919 in Minnich Cemetery, Union, Montgomery County, Ohio. Glenn married Sidney [--?--] circa 1943 in Ohio. A resident of Union, Montgomery County, Glenn moved to Florida in 1963 after 35 years of public service with the City of Union as police chief, town marshall, director of public services and eight years as mayor. He and his wife had children Glenn, Jr., John P., and Verona.
267 ii. Leroy E. APPLEGATE was born 15 July 1921 and died in West Milton, Miami County, Ohio 7 May 1927 at age 5. The cause of dath was acute septicemia from a burn on his right hip and buttock. He was buried 9 May 1927 in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County.
268 iii. Virgil E. APPLEGATE was born 11 November 1923. He died in West Milton, Miami County, Ohio 16 November 1923, and was buried in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County.
