136.  Harvey⁵ HUNT (Ralph⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 25 July 1846 in Darke County, Ohio. He married Elizabeth Haworth on 26 August 1865 in Ohio. He died of chronic mitral and aortic insufficiency 18 March 1924 in Union Township, Miami County, Ohio at age 77, and was buried 20 March 1924 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County.

     Harvey married Elizabeth HAWORTH 26 August 1865 in Ohio. She was born 16 October 1846 in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of Samuel and Rosanna (Jones) Haworth and sister to Sarah Ann J. Haworth who married Harvey's uncle Richard Hunt (see #59 above). She died 10 September 1911 of acute dilatation of the heart in Laura at age 64, and was buried 12 September 1911 in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

               313      v.    Horace W. HUNT was born 6 August 1873 in Miami County, Ohio, and died of a cerebral hemorrhage 29 December 1937 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 64. He was buried 1 January 1937 in Davids Cemetery, Kettering, Montgomery County. At the time of death he was a bench machinist for General Motors. Horace married 18 August 1905 in Dayton Elizabeth J. BELLMAN., the daughter of Jacob and Rachel (Yike) Bellman, who was born 16 August 1876 in Van Buren Township, Montgomery County. The couple had a sone Ralph E. born circa 1907 in Dayton.

               314     vi.    Alelia Josephine HUNT, known as Josephine, was born 8 November 1875 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio. She died of valvular heart disease 21 May 1943 in Washington Township, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 67, and was buried 24 May 1943 in Davids Cemetery, Kettering, Montgomery County. On 16 June 1912 in Miami County Josephine married Roy Augustus KOHL, the son of John A. and Catherine (Ridenour) Kohl, who was born 6 December 1880 in Montgomery County. He died 14 November 1958 in that county at age 77, and was buried in Davids Cemetery. The couple had a son Ermal A., born 20 June 1913 in Montgomery County. He died 17 January 1997 in Ohio at age 83. Ermal's last known residence was West Milton, Miami County.

               315    vii.    Clifford Thomas HUNT was born 24 November 1877 in Miami County, Ohio. He died of uremia and generalized arteriosclerosis 30 July 1947 in Greenville, Darke County, Ohio at age 69, and was buried 2 August 1947 in Trenton Cemetery, Trenton, Butler County, Ohio. Clifford was a baker and married Emma E. LINCK 17 August 1898 in Butler County. She was the daughter of Henry and Lena Linck and was born 7 February 1875 in Trenton. Emma died of uterine cancer 24 March 1935 in Hamilton, Butler County at age 60, and was buried 28 March 1935 in Trenton Cemetery. Clifford and Emma had a son Lester H. born 19 November 1898 in Middletown, Butler County.

          +   316    viii.    Lillian May HUNT, born 3 May 1882 in Miami County, Ohio; married Charles A. ENYEART; married Rufus R. CIRCLE.

               317     ix.    Lloyd Glen HUNT was born 22 May 1887 in Miami County, Ohio. He died of adeno-carcinoma of the sigmoid 28 March 1932 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 44, and was buried 31 March 1932 in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. Lloyd married 9 April 1908 in Dayton Leah KLEINHAUS, the daughter of Henry and Louise Kleinhaus, who was born 9 April 1888 in Lawrenceburg, Dearborn County, Indiana. She died 18 August 1922 in Dayton at age 34. The cause of death was suicide by drowning off the Ridge Avenue bridge. Leah was buried 23 August 1922 in Willowview Cemetery, Northridge, Montgomery County. The couple had a daughter Verna born in 1909 in Dayton.

               318      x.    Ermal HUNT was born 11 January 1893 in Miami County, Ohio. He died of pulmonary tuberculosis 24 February 1916 in Van Buren Township, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 23, and was buried 27 February 1916 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County, Ohio.

137.  Abraham J.⁵ HUNT (Ralph⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 6 June 1850 in Darke County, Ohio. He died 22 January 1912 in Gettysburg, Darke County at age 61, and was buried 24 January 1912 in Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Darke County.

     Abraham married first 18 September 1869 in Ohio Caroline ELLEMAN who was born 5 September 1850 in Ohio, the daughter of Owen and Rachel (McDonald) Elleman. She died 7 February 1879 in Union Township, Miami County, Ohio at age 28, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County.

On 19 February 1880 in Darke County Abraham married second Rilla Belle DERSHAM. Known as Belle, she was born circa 1857 in Ohio and died before 1900. He married last Mary Coate WILLIAMS 7 October 1900 in Miami County. Mary was married twice previously, first to Henry R. Coate 8 April 1871 in Miami County, and next to Daniel W. B. Marsh 12 March 1889 in that county. She was born 5  April 1850 in Pleasant Hill, Miami County, the daughter of John H. and Sarah (Coate) Williams. She died 25 July 1926 in Pleasant Hill at age 76, and was buried in Greenville Cemetery.

Known children of Abraham J.⁵ HUNT and Caroline ELLEMAN, were:

               319       i.    Melville M.⁶ HUNT was born 9 May 1872 in Union Township, Miami County, Ohio, and married Carrie M. KERLIN 2 June 1896 in Darke County, Ohio. She was born 2 December 1871 in Greenville, Darke County, the daughter of William K. and Hannah (Jeffries) Kerlin of Indiana. The couple had four children: Mary, born in March 1897 in Ohio; Hannah, born circa 1903 in Illinois; Edith, born circa 1906 in Illinois; and Wilbur E., born circa 1909 in Illinois. In the 1910 and 1920 federal censuses, the family was enumerated in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois where Melville was a merchant. By 1922 they resided in Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio and that was where Carrie died  of peritonitis due to a ruptured appendix 30 November 1922 at age 50. She was buried 2 December 1922 in Greenville Cemetery in Darke County. In the 1930 census Melville, a widower, still resided in Lakewood and was supervisor of a meat packing company.

               320       i.    Edwin⁶ HUNT was born in January 1882 in Miami County, Ohio.

               321      ii.    Omer Strayer HUNT was born 23 February 1886 in Pleasant Hill, Miami County, Ohio. He married Louise OHMANSICK 7 June 1909 in Montgomery County, Ohio and the couple resided in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Louise was born 5 December 1885 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio and was the daughter of Frederick Ohmansick.

There were no known children of Abraham J.⁵ HUNT and Mary Coate WILLIAMS.

139.  Phoebe Jane⁵ HUNT (Ralph⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 25 October 1853 in Darke County, Ohio. She died of a cerebral hemorrhage 1 August 1937 in Arcanum, Darke County at age 83, and was buried 3 August 1937 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County, Ohio.

     Phoebe married Urias NETZLEY, the son of George and Catherine Ann (Coffman) Netzley, 31 December 1874. A blacksmith, he was born 25 September 1849 in Montgomery County, Ohio, and died of apoplexy 23 June 1919 in Arcanum, Darke County at age 69. Urias was buried 25 June 1919 in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

Known children of Phoebe Jane⁵ HUNT and Urias NETZLEY were as follows:

               322       i.    Chalmer⁶ NETZLEY was born 7 November 1875 in Darke County, Ohio. He died of cancer of the jaw 20 September 1948 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 72, and was buried 23 September 1948 in Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg, Darke County. Chalmer married first 18 September 1900 in Darke County Minnie Pearl HAWORTH who was born in April 1878 in Ohio, the daughter of Oran and Caroline (Deahofe) Haworth. They had a daughter Bertha M., born circa 1901. Minnie died in 1901 in Darke County, Ohio at age 23. Chalmer married second Lena RICHTER 27 September 1902 in Darke County. Lena was born 26 January 1880 in Germany. She died 30 July 1972 in Darke County, Ohio at age 92, and  was buried in Mote Cemetery.

               323      ii.    Wilbur NETZLEY was born 12 October 1877 in Ohio. He died 18 June 1878 in Ohio.

               324      iii.    Itasca Leota NETZLEY was born 19 December 1878 in Miami County, Ohio, and married William SHAFER in 1896. She died 22 September 1906 in Ohio at age 27. William was born circa 1874 in Darke County, Ohio. He died before 1900. The couple had a daughter Irene L., born in April 1898, and a son Milford, born 27 December 1899, who died in August 1971 at age 71.

               325     iv.    Charles W. NETZLEY was born 20 June 1886 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio, and married Opal F. MILTENBERGER 22 August 1911 in Darke County, Ohio. She was born 23 July 1890 in Arcanum, Darke County, the daughter of Frank and Emma Miltenberger. She may have died 8 June 1943 in Miami County. Charles also went by the name of Ching and was a barber with his own shop in Laura.

               326      v.    Mary L.B. NETZLEY was born 19 December 1893 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio, and married Edgar Roy TROXEL 3 August 1914. She died 11 February 1960 in Darke County, Ohio at age 66. Edgar was born 8 August 1888 in Darke County, the son of Milton and Talitha (Henderson) Troxel. He died 17 September 1968 in Darke County at age 80. The couple had a son Robert born circa 1917 in Ohio.

140.  Theodore Stidman⁵ HUNT (Ralph⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 18 January 1855 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died 12 March 1941 of pancreatic cancer in Newberry Township, Miami County, Ohio at age 86, and was buried 15 March 1941 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County.

     Theodore married Mary Ann 'Mollie' HOLSAPPLE 14 October 1882 in Darke County. She was born 10 October 1863 in Indiana and was the daughter of Samuel and Rachel (Kaufman) Holsapple. Mollie died 18 January 1917 in Franklin Township, Darke County at age 53, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

Known children of Theodore Stidman⁵ HUNT and Mary Ann HOLSAPPLE, all born in Darke County, Ohio, were as follows:

               327       i.    Ralph B.⁶ HUNT was born 22 February 1886 and died 18 October 1972 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 86.

               328      ii.    Opal Mae HUNT was born 12 January 1892. Circa 1912 she married Fred Earnest WESTFALL, the son of John D. and nancy B. Westfall, who was born 6 October 1893 and died in Darke County 23 November 1972 at age 79. He was buried in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Miami County. The couple had children Gladys M., born circa 1913; Dorothy Irene, born circa 1915 who married Elvin J. HISSONG; Pauline, born circa 1918 and Mary. In 1930 Opal's widowed father lived with them in Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio.

               329      iii.    Israel Paul HUNT, known as Paul, was born 21 June 1897. He died 17 January 1976 in Miami County, Ohio at age 78. Paul married Helen Gertrude DREES, the daughter of George and Lulu (Brown) Drees, 31 March 1918 in Miami County. Helen was born 11 December 1900 in Covington, Miami County and died in 1973 at age 73. Paul and Helen were buried in Highland Cemetery, Covington.

               330     iv.    Virgil HUNT was born in 1901 and died in 1973 at age 72. He was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County, Ohio. Circa 1919 Virgil married Irene E. KERCHER who was the daughter of James M. and Minnie B. (Westfall) Kercher. Her mother was the sister of Fred E. Westfall who married Virgil's sister Opal (see #328 above). Irene was born in 1901 in Miami County. Their known children were Jimmie T. and Betty J.

141.  Arlistus⁵ HUNT (Ralph⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 18 September 1857 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died 22 March 1936 in Greenville, Darke County at age 78 of pneumonia after suffering a fractured pelvis in a fall, and was buried 24 March 1936 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County, Ohio.

     Arlistus married Mary Elizabeth WRIGHT 8 September 1877 in Darke County. The daughter of John and Sarah (Penny) Wright, Mary was born 6 September 1859 in Miami County, Ohio. Her brother John Wesley married Arlistus' sister Almeda Hunt (see #142 above) and her sister Hettie Elvira married Arlistus' brother Charles Hunt (see #145 below). She died of liver cancer 11 July 1934 in Greenville, Darke County, Ohio at age 74, and was buried 15 July 1934 in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

Known children of Arlistus⁵ HUNT and Mary Elizabeth WRIGHT were as follows:

               331       i.    Raymond Leroy⁶ HUNT was born 2 June 1880 in Darke County, Ohio, and died 27 July 1965 in Montgomery County, Ohio at age 85. On 20 December 1905 in Montgomery County he married Hattie HEETER, the daughter of David T. and Elizabeth (Detwiler) Heeter, who was born 23 June 1884 in Montgomery County, and died there 23 June 1969 at age 85. The couple had a daughter Geneva N., born 26 October 1916 and died  in Montgomery County 21 June 2006 at age 89, who married Charles William BRITTON. Charles was born 26 November 1917 and died 12 August 2011 at age 93 in Montgomery County. Raymond, Hattie, Geneva and Charles were buried in Arlington Cemetery, Clay Township, Montgomery County.

               332      ii.    Lowell Wright HUNT was born 30 January 1886 in Darke County, Ohio. He died 7 February 1950 in Montgomery County, Ohio at age 64, and was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Miami County, Ohio. Lowell married 14 July 1906 in Montgomery County Celia C. DUNN, the daughter of John H. and Emma E. (Boomershine) Dunn, who was born in October 1889 in that county. She died 18 March 1963 at age 73 in Montgomery County, and was buried in Riverside Cemetery. Lowell and Celia had two children. Thelma Marie Hunt was born 25 January 1907 and died 16 December 1929 in Miami County at age 22. She married 8 December 1927 in Miami County Theodore R. BEAM, the son of Milton and Ann (Gilhouse) Beam, who was born in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. The couple had a daughter Florine and a son Cletus E. Floyd Cletus Hunt was born 23 December 1910 and died 14 September 1994 at age 83. He married 17 March 1934 in Miami County Credith M. SCHAEFER who was born 12 April 1909 in Oldham County, Texas, the daughter of Albert and Nellie Schaefer, and died 9 June 1990 in Miami County at age 81. Thelma, Floyd and Credith were buried in Riverside Cemetery.

               333      iii.    Russell H. HUNT was born 23 December 1888 in Ohio, and married Bonnie LUDY circa 1914 in that state. Bonnie was born in March 1895 in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of Elmer E. and Dora B. Ludy. The couple had a son Arlistus R. who was stillborn 7 August 1917 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio. He was buried 9 August 1917 in Riverside Cemetery in Troy. They also had a son Walton. Russell was proprietor of a restaurant.

               334     iv.    Harold Victor HUNT was born 15 December 1890 in Miami County, Ohio, and died 6 December 1966 in Miami County, Ohio at age 75. He was buried in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County. Circa 1915 Harold married Leila M. [–?--] who was born circa 1898 in Ohio. The couple had children Madeline E., born circa 1918; Mildred Lucille, born circa 1919; Harold Victor, Jr., born 23 September 1921 and died 13 October 2003 at age 82, who was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Miami County; a son M. Dean; and a daughter Dorthalee.

               335      v.    Celia M. HUNT was born 28 October 1892 in Ohio, and married John Veirly MYERS 30 January 1915 in Miami County, Ohio. She died in May 1972 in Ohio at age 79. John was born 2 September 1892 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio, the son of Henry C. and Caroline (Pressler) Myers. He died 27 October 1987 in Clark County, Ohio at age 95. Celia and John had a son Sanford, born 9 April 1919 and died 29 September 2005 at age 86, who last resided in Fairborn, Greene County, Ohio; and a daughter June A.

               336     vi.    Sarah Elma HUNT, also known as Elma, was born 29 December 1894 in Miami County, Ohio, and died in April 1985 at age 90. Her last known address was Dalton, Whitfield County, Georgia. Elma married James C. LAVELLE 10 August 1918 in Miami County. He was born 10 February 1891 in Morley, Mecosta County, Michigan, the son of James and Ruth (Billings) Lavelle. In the 1930 federal census the couple were enumerated in Greenville, Darke County, Ohio and James was owner of a restaurant.

               337    vii.    Dolphus McKinley HUNT was born 2 February 1896 in Miami County, Ohio. He married first 26 May 1919 in Miami County Mary K. MORGAN who was born 20 October 1900 in Covington, Miami County, the daughter of Charles E. and Amanda Viola (Walker) Morgan. She died of tuberculosis of the throat 12 July 1925 in Troy, Miami County at age 24, and was buried 14 July 1925 in Fletcher Cemetery, Brown Township, Miami County. Dolphus married next Florence BROWN, the daughter of Norman Lester and Candis V. (Michael) Brown, who was born in 1893 and married first circa 1912 George Riley Shue, the son of Charles R. and Mina B. (Stout) Shue. Riley, as he was known, was born 30 December 1888 and died 19 October 1918 at age 30. The couple had a daughter Velma who was born and died 18 September 1914; and a son Bruce R., born 17 September 1916 and died 8 March 2012 at age 95. Florence died in 1969 at age 76 in Montgomery County. Dolphus died 15 September 1978 in Clark County, Ohio, at age 82. He and Florence, her children and first husband were buried in Parish Cemetery, Arlington, Montgomery County, Ohio.

               338    viii.    Charles Wesley HUNT was born 1 April 1900 in Clay Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, and died 11 February 1978 in Miami County, Ohio at age 77. He married Audrey C. GABRIEL, the daughter of Alva and Rose Emma (Moore) Gabriel, 23 December 1926 in Miami County. Audrey was born circa 1906 in Ohio, and died 11 May 1963 in Troy, Miami County. They had a son Roger.

               339     ix.    Treva HUNT was born circa 1902 in Ohio.

143.  James Aldus⁵ HUNT (Ralph⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 18 May 1865 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died 16 October 1945 in Los Angeles County, California at age 80.

     James married first 11 September 1886 in Darke County Sarah HARMON, the daughter of Benjamin and Eliza (Beery) Harmon, who was born in April1869 in Darke County. The couple divorced, having had no children, and she married second John Andress 26 January 1895 in Rockford, Mercer County, Ohio. James married second Emma E. HOOTEN circa 1897 in Nebraska. She was born in March 1880 in Indianola, Red Willow County, Nebraska and was the daughter of Andrew C. “Cass” and Marian Jeanette (Crawford) Hooten. James, Emma and a daughter were enumerated in the 1900 federal census in South Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska and by 1910 were in San Antonio Township, Los Angeles County, California where James was foreman for a stable. In 1920 they were in Summit, San Bernardino County, California and James ran a gasoline station. By 1930 they were back in Los Angeles County in Belvedere.

               340       i.    Ethel J.⁶ HUNT was born in October 1898 in California. She married [--?--] Sharp between 1920 and 1924 and was divorced by 1930. Ethel had a daughter Marie H.

               341      ii.    James M. HUNT was born 9 October 1912 in Los Angeles County, California and died 24 December 1999 in Los Angeles County, California.

145.  Charles M.⁵ HUNT (Ralph⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born in February 1868 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died in 1955 in Miami County, Ohio at age 87, was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Miami County.

     On 24 November 1886 in Darke County he married Hettie Elvira WRIGHT, the daughter of John and Sarah (Penny) Wright. Her brother John Wesley married Charles' sister Almeda Hunt (see #142 above) and her sister Mary Elizabeth married Charles' brother Arlistus Hunt (see #141 above) Hettie was born 9 March 1869 in Miami County, and died of mitral regurgitation 6 July 1930 in Concord Township, Miami County at age 61. She was buried 9 July 1930 in Riverside Cemetery.

Known children of Charles M.⁵ HUNT and Hettie Elvira WRIGHT, all born in Laura, Miami County, Ohio, were as follows:

               342       i.    Myrtle⁶ V. HUNT was born in June 1887, and married Earl MCDONALD circa 1904 in Miami County, Ohio.He was born 18 November 1883 in Xenia, Greene County, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Millie (Johns) McDonald, and died of congestive heart failure 20 October 1953 in Troy, Miami County at age 69. Earl was buried 23 October 1953 in Woodland Cemetery in Xenia. Myrtle died in 1954 at age 67 and was buried in Woodland Cemetery. The couple had children Catherine E., born 19 August 1905 and died 15 March 1906, who was buried in Woodland Cemetery; Juanita, born circa 1907; Charles Joseph, born circa 1909; and Gladys M., born circa 1912.

               343      ii.    Hiram W. HUNT was born 4 March 1889, and died 9 March 1962 in Darke County, Ohio at age 73. On 22 November 1909 in Miami County Hiram married Blanche L. BRADY who was born in September 1887 in Miami County, the daughter of William J. and Emma P. Brady. Hiram and Blanche had a son Richard E. born circa 1919 in Troy, Miami County.

               344      iii.    Harry Richard HUNT was born 14 April 1890 and died of a broken neck in a car accident 6 July 1928 in Orange Township, Shelby County, Ohio at age 38. He was buried 8 July 1928 in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Miami County, Ohio. Harry married Florence Marie WOOLEY 8 December 1917 in Miami County. Florence was born 9 July 1892 in Sidney, Shelby County,  the daughter of Job M and Adeline A. 'Addie' (Thomas) Wooley. She was married previously, possibly to a Hurst.

               346      v.    Commodore Dewey HUNT was born on 8 April 1898. He died of typhoid fever 30 August 1913 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 15, and was buried 2 September 1913 in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.

148.  Albert⁵ JONES (Rachel⁴ Hunt, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 15 December 1852 in Miami County, Ohio. He died of acute gastro-enteritis 8 August 1921 in Newton Township, Miami County at age 68, and was buried 10 August 1921 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County.

     Albert married 9 December 1877 in Miami County Amanda DITMER who was born 26 November 1856 in that county, the daughter of John and Lydia (Mishler) Ditmer. She died of chronic endocarditis and pulmonary edema 6 January 1933 in West Milton, Miami County at age 76, and was buried 8 January 1933 in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

               347       i.    Lauda Vera⁶ JONES was born 1 August 1879 in Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio, and died 8 June 1965 in Ohio at age 85. She was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County. Lauda married 8 June 1898 Albert B. “A.B.”JONES, the son of Harvey Hoover and Jane (Graham) Jones, who was born 14 April 1876 in Darke County, Ohio. He died of a coronary occlusion 6 March 1951 in Troy, Miami County at age 74, and was buried 9 March 1951 in Old Ludlow Cemetery. A. B. bought into the Henderson and Coppock grain elevator in Laura in Miami County and eventually bought out his partners. In 1905 additions were made to the elevator, enlarging it to a capacity of 20,000 bushels. A.B.'s brother-in-law David Lawson Mote and his son Clark bought the elevator in June 1916 and changed the name to Mote and Son. Lauda and Albert had a daughter Freda A. born in March 1900.

149.  Rollin K.⁵ JONES (Rachel⁴ Hunt, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 17 February 1855 in Miami County, Ohio, and married Armina Kathryn HAWORTH, daughter of Isaac and Mary Catharine (Graham) Haworth, 9 December 1877 in Ohio. He died of apoplexy 20 February 1919 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio at age 64, and was buried 23 February 1919 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County.

     Rollin operated The Rollin K. Jones General Store at the corner of Second Street and Main in Laura around 1887. He also owned a gravel pit east of Laura.  In 1914 Rollin and his wife Armina donated the stone corner posts on the fence that had been erected around the Old Ludlow Cemetery grounds in April 1914. The posts had been the base of their bank barn at 405 South Main Street in Laura. A short time later a driver smashed into one of the stone posts and it was not replaced as a warning to any speeder.

Armina was born 4 October 1855 in Darke County, Ohio. She died of acute cardiac dilatation 27 September 1938 in Laura at age 82, and was buried 30 September 1938 in Old Ludlow Cemetery. In addition to the children below, Rollin and Armina had a son Harvey Harrison born 23 December 1892 and died in December 1898 at age 6.

               350      iii.    Mabel F. JONES was born 29 January 1882 in Ohio. She died of myocarditis 15 November 1930 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio at age 48, and was buried 18 November 1930 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County. Circa 1918 Mabel married Joseph Howard ALDAY, the son of Charles W. and Frances C. Alday, who was born 5 March 1884 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. Joseph's father was a cigar manufactuer. Joseph died in April 1966 in Miami, Dade County, Florida at age 82. 

               351     iv.    Chloe G. JONES was born in October 1883 in Ohio. She died 6 April 1970 in Darke County, Ohio at age 86, and was buried in Davids Cemetery, Kettering, Montgomery County, Ohio. On 29 May 1901 in Miami County, Chloe married Walter D. KARNS, the son of John and Mary Jane (Wells) Karns. He was born 31 March 1881 in Ohio, and died 5 April 1960 in Montgomery County at age 79.

               352      v.    Juva Ina JONES was born 20 March 1886 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio. In the 1910 federal census she was enumerated as a nurse at the Seventh Day Adventist Sanitarium and Seminary in Takoma Park, Montgomery County, Maryland. She married Cecil R. Pemberton, son of Aaron Ellis and Emma Eda (Hunt) Pemberton, 20 March 1912 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Cecil, born 17 November 1885 in Laura, had been married previously to Frances J. Parthesius 20 April 1907 in Bucyrus, Crawford County, Ohio. They had a daughter Lucille F., born circa 1908, and a son Robert H., born circa 1910. Cecil and Juva had a daughter Wilma, born circa 1914. The family resided in Washington, District of Columbia in 1920, and in Silver Spring, Montgomery County, Maryland in 1930. Cecil died in Montgomery County in September 1967 at age 81, and Juva died there in March 1976 at age 90.

               353     vi.    Roscoe C. JONES was born 25 April 1887 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio, and married Ada HORNE 29 May 1914 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. At the time of his marriage he resided in St. Louis, Missouri and his wife in Cleveland. Ada was born 10 August 1891 in Canada, the daughter of John and Martha J. (Richardson) Horne. In the 1920 federal census the couple was enumerated in Alliance, Stark County, Ohio, with son Jesse H., born circa 1917 in Illinois. Roscoe was a chemist for a steel foundry. The couple also had a daughter Ann L., born circa 1920 in Stark County. By 1930 the family resided in Yonkers, Westchester County, New York where Roscoe was an engineer for New York Central. He died 20 April 1936 at age 48. Ada died 14 November 1958 at age 67.

               354    vii.    Ula Glenna JONES was born 12 February 1889 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio. She died 18 March 1929 in Pleasant Hill, Miami County at age 40, and was buried 21 March 1929 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Ula married Harvey J. COX between 1910 and 1918. He was born 16 March 1887 in Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio, and was the son of John W. and Harriet (Driver) Cox. Harvey married second Lula M. Jennings 19 April 1930 in Newton Township, Miami County. She was born 23 March 1894 in Covington, Miami County, the daughter of Michael F. and Mary Anne (Gohring) Maier. Harvey died 31 December 1940 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio, at age 53, and was buried 2 January 1941 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

               355    viii.    Golda Marie JONES was born 19 August 1890 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio, and died 24 September 1974 in Montgomery County, Ohio at age 84. She was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County, Ohio. On 31 December 1910 in Miami County Golda married Clarence E. SCHREEL, son of Charles and Sadie (Myers) Schreel, who was born 21 August 1886 in West Alexandria, Preble County, Ohio. The couple had no children. Clarence, a tobacco buyer, died 28 March 1940 in Dayton, Montgomery County at age 53, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

               356     ix.    Jesse Isaac JONES was born 3 September 1893 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio. He served in the medical corps of the United States Army from 7 January 1918 to 4 January 1919. In 1920 he graduated from the Ohio State University College of Homeopathic Medicine and then set up practice in Iowa. It was there he married circa 1923 Irma FRANK, the daughter of Herman L. and Estella Frank, who was born in Buchanan County, Iowa in February 1895. Jesse was president of the Delaware County, Iowa Medical Society, and was medical superintendent and part owner of Jones-Clark Hospital. At some point Jesse married Genevieve BLANKENBAKER who was born in 1909 in Wapakoneta, Auglaize County, Ohio. Jesse died 28 December 1942 in Manchester, Delaware County, Iowa at age 49.

               357      x.    Merlin Perry JONES was born 3 February 1895 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio, and died 1 February 1963 at age 66. He married 4 October 1919 in Miami County Victoria MARKLEY, the daughter of Joseph A. and Rachel (Christian) Markley, who was born 29 January 1901. She died in October 1986 at age 85. In the 1930 federal census Merlin, Victoria and their son Forrest P. were in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio where Merlin was an entomologist at Ohio State University. In 1942 for the WWII draft registration the family was in Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia and Merlin worked for the Department of Agriculture. Forrest was born in 1922 and died in 1987 at age 65. He, Merlin and Victoria were buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura.

               358     xi.    Ernest Paul JONES was born 27 July 1897 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio, and died 23 July 1955 in Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia at age 57. He was buried 25 July 1955 in Cunningham Memorial Park, Charleston.

Ernest, an engineer, married 17 October 1930 in Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia Grace LONG, the daughter of James L. and Mary Lee (Holstein) Long, who was born 10 June 1897 in Kanawha County. She married first Earl Wilburn McClure, the son of Wilburn W. and Flora E. McClure, 19 September 1917 in Charleston. Earl was born 10 August 1897 in Lincoln County, West Virginia and was a bank clerk. He took his own life 9 April 1927 in Charleston at age 29. Grace died 10 November 1963 in Charleston at age 66, and was buried 12 November 1963 in Cunningham Memorial Park.

               359    xii.    Forrest Burr JONES was born in November 1899 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio and died in July 1901 in Miami County.

150.  Mary⁵ JONES (Rachel⁴ Hunt, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 16 October 1857 in Miami County, Ohio. She died of coronary artery disease 15 March 1944 in Arcanum Darke County, Ohio at age 86, and was buried 17 March 1944 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Newton Township, Miami County.

     Mary married first 18 March 1879 in Miami County Calvin R. WRIGHT who was born 13 December 1857 in Miami County, Ohio. He died 17 November 1880 in Miami County, Ohio at age 22, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County. The couple had no children.

     On 24 November 1883 in Miami County Mary married second Edward Elmer Elsworth STRYKER. He was born 10 July 1861 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, the son of John and Sarah (McConnell) Stryker.  He died of laryngeal tuberculosis 25 March 1923 in Franklin Township, Darke County, Ohio at age 61, and was buried 27 March 1923 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

               360       i.    Mary Belle⁶ STRYKER was born in June 1884 in Ohio and died in 1967 at age 83. She married 4 October 1906 in Darke County, Ohio Harry R. KESTER who was born 6 May 1876 in Arcanum, Darke County, the son of John and Catherine L. Dora (Gerdes) Kester. An RFD mail carrier, he died of acute dilatation of the heart 11 February 1929 at age 52. Harry was buried 13 February 1929 in Abbottsville Cemetery, Van Buren Township, Darke County, Ohio. Mary Bell was also buried there.

               361      ii.    Harvey Earl STRYKER was born 8 January 1886 in Darke County, Ohio. Known as Earl, he died of chronic myocarditis 3 April 1944 in Arcanum, Darke County at age 58, and was buried 6 April 1944 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio. Harvey married Essie Fern HOUDESHELL 28 March 1908 in Darke County. Essie was born 20 August 1887 in Adams Township, Darke County, the daughter of George A. and Mary E. Houdeshell. She died 27 October 1962 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 75, and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio. The couple had children Alice, born in 1909; Sherman, born 23 February 1913 and died 12 February 2005 at age 91 in Dayton; and Kenneth J.

               362      iii.    Albert William STRYKER was born 29 July 1890 in Franklin Township, Darke County, Ohio and died in June 1967 at age 76 in Miami County, Ohio. His middle name was given as Willis on his WWI draft registration and marriage record, but he was enumerated as William in the 1920 and 1930 censuses and the Social Security Death Index. His name also seen as Willie. Albert married Pearl MARLIN, the daughter of Joseph Marlin and Anna Penny, 21 October 1910 in Miami County. She was born 17 February 1889 in Miami County, and died there in November 1986 at age 97. Both William and Pearl were buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Newton Township, Miami County. They had sons Roscoe Berlyn, born 21 April 1911 and died 30 November 1994 at age 83 in Troy, Miami County, who married Margaret Alma LACHAT; Byron Lowell, born 5 July 1912 and died of entero-colitis 2 September 1913 in Union Township, Miami County, who was buried 4 September 1912 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery; and Gerald.

152.  Elmer Elsworth⁵ JONES (Rachel⁴ Hunt, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 27 June 1862 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio. He died of chronic vascular heart disease 16 July 1930 in Elizabeth Township, Miami County at age 68, and was buried 18 July 1930 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County, Ohio.

     Elmer married first 12 June 1880 in Miami County Callie NORTH who was born 2 July 1865, the daughter of Washington Irvin and Martha Jane (Carson) North. They had a son Lorenzo, born 11 December 1880 and died 22 February 1881, who was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery. Callie died 3 July 1882 in Miami County, Ohio at age 17, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

     On 21 December 1884 in Miami County Elmer married second Anna M. COPPOCK who was born 13 March 1865 in Ohio. She died 19 August 1956 in Ohio at age 91.

Russel married Myrtle Mary HALLER 4 November 1910 in Miami County. Myrtle, the daughter of Charles E. and Anna Laura (Focht) Haller, was born 4 March 1886 in Eaton, Preble County, Ohio, ad died 11 August 1964 in Dayton at age 78. She was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery. The couple had a daughter Martha M., born circa 1913.

153.  Jane Cothren⁵ JONES (Rachel⁴ Hunt, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 13 January 1866 in Miami County, Ohio, and married John Wesley WINTROW, son of Adam and Hester (Penny) Wintrow, 15 November 1884. She died 12 January 1940 in Darke County, Ohio at age 73, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County.

John was born 7 March 1863 in Miami County, Ohio. He died 18 March 1943 in Darke County at age 80, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

Known children of Jane Cothren⁵ JONES and John Wesley WINTROW, all born in Miami County, Ohio, were as follows:

Lova married 7 July 1906 in Miami County Harvey Elmer WISSINGER, the son of Augustus S. and Ella (Davis) Wissinger, who was born 26 May 1884 in Ohio. He died 28 November 1963 in Miami County at age 79, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery. In 1918 Harvey was a car inspector for the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad. The couple had children Ada Mae, born in 1909 and died 13 December 1919 at age 10, who was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery; Mary Ina, born 2 March 1911 and died of carcinomatosis of the lungs due to breast cancer 3 April 1949 in Darke County, Ohio at age 38, who was buried 6 April 1949 in Old Ludlow Cemetery; Louis J., born circa 1914; and John Charles, born 3 May 1916 and died of persistent bronchial pneumonia 3 April 1917 in Bradford, Darke County at age 11 months, who was buried 5 April 1917 in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

               366      iii.    Loren Marley WINTROW was born 14 March 1891, and died 25 March 1973 in Miami County, Ohio at age 82. He was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County. Also called Marley, he never married.

               367     iv.    Annie May WINTROW was born 13 December 1892. She died 20 December 1892 in Miami County, Ohio, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County.

               368      v.    Mabel WINTROW was born in 1903, and married Lewis Swisher HERKINS 20 September 1923 in Ohio. She died at age 91 in 1994 in Ohio, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County, Ohio. Lewis was born in 1904 in Ohio, the son of Frank and Minnie A. (Swisher) Herkins. He died in 1977 in Ohio, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

154.  Theodore Newel⁵ HUNT (Thomas⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 19 January 1853 in Darke County, Ohio. He died of exhaustion with a contributing factor of paralysis of the throat 31 October 1921 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio at age 68. Theodore was buried 2 November 1921 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio.

     On 5 January 1876 in Miami County Theodore married first Amanda Jane YOUNG who was born 21 January 1856 in Ohio. She died 17 May 1892 in Miami County at age 36, and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Theodore married second Maggie WEBB 20 October 1895 in Mercer County, Ohio. Maggie was born 29 March 1855 in that county, the daughter of Reason/Rezin B. and Lucinda (Hays) Webb, and was married previously to Rual C. Harner 23 September 1875 in Mercer County. After Theodore died Maggie married third Franklin Van Wormer in 1925. She died 26 December 1940 in Warren County, Ohio at age 85.

Known children of Theodore Newel⁵ HUNT and Amanda Jane YOUNG, both born in Miami County, Ohio, were as follows:

155.  Richard Sylvester⁵ HUNT (Thomas⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 17 January 1858 in Darke County, Ohio. He died 19 June 1946 in La Porte County, Indiana at age 88.

     Richard married Mary Ellen PEMBERTON 18 February 1880 in Miami County, Ohio. She was born 13 May 1860 in that county, the daughter of Isaiah and Dorcas (Coat) Pemberton, and died 9 May 1926 in La Porte County, Indiana at age 65. The family was enumerated in Union Township, Miami County thru the 1910 federal census. By 1920 they were in Geneva Township, Jennings County, Indiana, and some time before 1930 moved to La Porte County.

Known children of Richard Sylvester⁵ HUNT and Mary Ellen PEMBERTON, all born in Laura, Miami County, Ohio, were as follows:

Beulah was born 15 May 1906 in Peru, Miami County Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Edith (Kinsley) May, and died in May 1987 at age 81. Her last known address as Alma, Gratiot County, Michigan.

158.  Isaac A.⁵ HUNT (Abraham⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹) was born 26 February 1858 in Darke County, Ohio. He died of a cerebral thrombosis 15 February 1950 in Miami County, Ohio at age 91, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County.

     Isaac married first 1 January 1881 in Miami County Esther D. YOUNT who was born in 1859 in Ohio. She died in 1900 in Miami County, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery. He married second Anna ELLEMAN 22 March 1902 in Miami County. Ann was born 25 June 1865 in Ohio, the daughter of Isaac and Sarah Ann (Burns) Elleman. She married first Richard McGlothin 2 March 1882 in Miami County, but was widowed by 1900. They had a son Clayton Verland McGlothin, born 13 April 1893; and a son Marley McGlothin, born 21 June 1895. Anna died of hypertensive cardiovascular renal disease 6 April 1943 in Union Township, Miami County.

Known children of Isaac A.⁵ HUNT and Esther D. YOUNT were as follows:

               374       i.    Arlie Delbert⁶ HUNT was born 26 July 1881 in Darke County, Ohio. He died 10 April 1966 in Miami County at age 84, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County, Ohio. According to censuses, Arlie was a farmer, stationery engineer and cement laboroer, but his headstone gives his name as Rev. Arlie D. Hunt. He married first 8 August 1901 in Miami County Ethel V. SANDO who was born in July 1885 in Bloomer in that county. The daughter of John H. and Lydia Ella (Stephens) Sando, she died 10 January 1902 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 16. Arlie married second Abbie M. NICODEMUS 3 March 1906 in Ohio. She was born 10 May 1879 in Loramie, Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of Harrison and Polina Nicodemus, and died in February 1971 at age 91. Abbie was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery. Arlie had no children.

               375      ii.    Maude Opal HUNT was born 4 February 1883 in Miami County, Ohio, and married Thomas Clyde GUNDER 14 July 1904 in Miami County, Ohio. She died of a cerebral hemorrhage 6 October 1949 in Arcanum, Darke County, Ohio at age 66, and was buried 9 October 1949 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County.Thomas Clyde was born 20 August 1885 in Darke County, the son of William and Ida May (Coate) Gunder. He died of a benign brain tumor 9 February 1926 in West Milton, Miami County at age 40, and was buried 11 February 1926 in Old Ludlow Cemetery. The couple had children Harriet L., born circa 1907; Lois J., born circa 1911; Dortia M.,born circa 1914; Robert D., born 3 December 1915 and died 6 August 1995 in Florida at age 80, who was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery; and Jack, born 22 June 1919 and died 18 June 1993 at age 73, who was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

There were no known children of Isaac A.⁵ HUNT and Anna ELLEMAN.

166.  Mary Elma⁵ HUNT (Richard M.⁴, Elijah³, Samuel², Ralph¹), known commonly as Elma, was born  13 July 1870 in Darke County, Ohio. She died of a bowel obstruction 19 November 1922 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 52, and was buried 22 November 1922 in Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg, Darke County. Her headstone gives her name as M. Elma.

     Elma married Ervin Alvin RICHTER 30 November 1889 in Darke County. The son of August Richter, he was born 1 September 1866 in Germany, and died 4 March 1944 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 77. Alvin, as he was known, was buried in Mote Cemetery. His headstone gives his name as E. Alvin Richter.

Known children of Mary Elma⁵ HUNT and Ervin Alvin RICHTER, all born in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio, were as follows:

               382    vii.    Ruth S. RICHTER was born 28 February 1910. She died 8 May 2001 in Ohio at age 91. Ruth married Garold LAMBERT circa 1929. He was born 30 March 1907 in Ohio, and died in October 1986, last residence Arcanum, Darke County, Ohio.

She died of coronary sclerosis 6 July 1931 in Union Township, Miami County at age 55, and was buried 11 July 1931 in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

               385      ii.    Richard Ray HUNT was born 15 April 1898 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died 26 April 1985 in Sarasota, Sarasota County, Florida, at age 87. He was also known as Ray.

               386      iii.    Eunice HUNT was born 28 June 1900 in Darke County, Ohio and died 29 December 1991 in Ohio at age 91. She was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County, Ohio. On 18 June 1921 in Miami County Eunice married Pharron Kenneth STAGER, the son of Manuel and Jeanette (Kraner) Stager, who was born 24 July 1899 in Bryant, Jay County, Indiana. He died 20 October 1980 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery. Their known children were Miriam, Donald and Zula.

               387     iv.    Walter HUNT was born 18 April 1902 in Miami County, Ohio, and died 19 November 1991 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 89. On 28 October 1922 in Miami County he married Veronica EADS, the daughter of William T. and Georgianna (Denney) Eads, who was born 8 August 1902 in Mercer County, West Virginia. She died 15 June 1994 in Ohio at age 91. Known children were sons Robert and Carroll.

               388      v.    Mary Elizabeth HUNT was born 17 May 1904 in Miami County, Ohio, and married Walter Charles DITMER, son of Lawrence W. and Fannie Catherine (Lambert) Ditmer, 14 June 1922 in Miami County. She died 26 June 2001 in Montgomery County, Ohio at age 97, and was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura, Miami County. Walter was born 23 March 1900 in Miami County, and died 24 March 1987 in Montgomery County at age 87. He was buried in Old Ludlow Cemetery. In the 1930 federal census Mary and Walter were enumerated in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio where he was a railway clerk for the U.S. Government. With them were children Esther, Robert, and Marilee.

               389     vi.    Vernon HUNT was born 20 March 1906 Miami County, Ohio. He died 5 October 2001 in Worland, Washakie County, Wyoming at age 95, and was buried in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Worland, along with wife C. Elta [–?--], born in 1909 in Wyoming and died there in 1982 at age 73. They married 8 June 1928.

He was enumerated as Otto on the 1910 federal census, and his wife's death certificate gives his name as Oto.

     Otwell married Carrie Viola BESECKER 15 May 1897 in Darke County. Known as Viola, she was born 25 August 1880 in Darke County, the daughter of Oliver and Fannie (Mackley) Besecker. She died of a coronary thrombosis 20 February 1942 in Greenville, Darke County at age 61, and was buried 24 February 1942 in Old Ludlow Cemetery. On her marriage record her name was given as Ola..

He died 11 November 1993 in Ohio at age 95. Both Pearl and Ralph were buried in Abbottsville Cemetery, Van Buren Township, Darke County.

               405      ii.    Leona M. HUNT was born 20 March 1901 and died in July 1992 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 91. Circa 1924 she married Carl H. MYERS. In the 1930 federal census the couple was enumerated in Dayton where Carl worked as a machinist. Also in the the household was Leona's sister Mildred. Both she and Leona worked in a poultry hatchery.

               407     iv.    Mildred Fern HUNT was born 12 December 1905 and died 19 January 2002 in Greenville, Darke County, Ohio at age 96. She was also known as Fern. Some time after 1930 she married [–?--] BERNHEISEL. In the 1930 federal census Mildred resided with her sister Leona and her husband in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio and worked in a poultry hatchery, as did Leona.

     Susanna married 23 February 1878 in Darke County Hamilton BAKER who was born 15 October 1853 in Ohio, the son of Samuel and Mary (Niswonger) Baker. He died of arteriosclerosis with a contributing factor of gangrene of the left foot 20 December 1928 in Monroe Township, Darke County at age 75, and was buried 23 December 1928 in Abbottsville Cemetery.

               427      iii.    Onda Elizabeth BAKER was born 26 August 1888, and married Hugh Webster GARRISON 9 November 1907 in Darke County, Ohio. She died 4 June 1948 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 59. Hugh was born 5 March 1887 in Greenville, Darke County, the son of George L. and Anna M. (Spitler) Garrison. He died in June 1963 in Ohio at age 76. The couple had children Lloyd R., born 14 February 1910 and died 7 May 2005 in New Mexico at age 95; Alice O., born circa 1913; Leonard W., born circa 1919; and Janice E.

226.  Sylvester Henry⁵ PENNY (Thomas W.⁴, John F.³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 26 June 1860 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died of paralysis of the lower extremities and heart lesion 3 May 1929 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio at age 68, and was buried 5 May 1929 in Old Ludlow Cemetery, Laura. Buck, as he was known, became a Quaker in 1898 and remained in that faith until his death.

     Buck married Martha Elizabeth LAMSDALE 1 July 1882 in Miami County. She was born 18 December 1862 in Jackson Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, the daughter of William and Mary (Firth) Lamsdale, and died of lung cancer 9 March 1951 in Lebanon, Warren County, Ohio at age 88. Mattie, as she was commonly known, was buried 22 March 1951 in Old Ludlow Cemetery.

     Mary married 22 September 1886 in Darke County Noah Wendell DITMER, the son of John M. and Elizabeth (Minnich) Ditmer, who was born 26 May 1863 in Arcanum, Darke County. His brother John married Mary's sister Emma (see #228 below) Noah died of a cerebral hemorrhage 23 June 1951 in Staunton Township, Miami County, and was buried 25 June 1951 in Potsdam Cemetery.

     On 19 March 1887 in Darke County she married John A. DITMER who was born 13 February 1865 in Arcanum, Darke County. He was the son of John M. and Elizabeth (Minnich) Ditmer and brother of Noah who married Emma's sister Mary (see #227 above). John died of hypertensive cardiovascular disease13 August 1936 in Newberry Township, Miami County at age 71, and was buried 15 August 1936 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Walter, the son of Robert P. and Jennie (Boze) Hunley, was born 24 August 1891 in Troy. He married second 6 May 1925 in Miami County Nellie Baldwin, the daughter of Levi and Nancy (Gabriel) Baldwin. Walter died in Troy of a coronary thrombosis 12 April 1933 at age 41, was buried 15 April 1933 in Riverside Cemetery. Hazel and Walter had a son Robert, born circa 1913; and a daughter Doris, born circa 1915.

229.  William C.⁵ PENNEY (Thomas W.⁴ Penny, John F.³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 16 November 1869 in Pittsburg, Darke County, Ohio. He died of angina pectoris 18 April 1936 in Christiansburg, Champaign County, Ohio at age 66, and was buried 20 April 1936 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio. William was a farmer and at the time of death a mail carrier.

     William married Blanche Ellen BROWN 28 February 1889 in Darke County. She was born 1 April 1870 in Bradford, Darke County, the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Corey) Brown, and died of chronic myocarditis, cardiovascular and renal disease 17 March 1951 in Troy, Miami County at age 80. Blanche was buried 20 March 1951 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

William used the 'ey' spelling of his surname.

He died 11 December 1981 in Franklin County, Ohio at age 92, and was buried in Davids Cemetery, Kettering, Montgomery County, Ohio. Following Bessie's death Charles married Muriel J. [–?--] who was born in 1901 and died 12 May 1961 at age 60, and they had a daughter Harriet E., born circa 1918. Muriel was buried in Davids Cemetery. Bessie and Charles had a daughter Hilda F., born in 1912 in Miami County.

               443     iv.    Lowell PENNEY was born 31 August 1895 in Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio. He died 9 October 1964 in Miami County at age 69, and was buried in Casstown Cemetery, Lostcreek Township, Miami County. Lowell also went by the name Jake and in the 1930 federal census was a jeweler in Troy, Miami County. Lowell married 6 June 1925 in Miami County Emma Blanche ADAMS, the daughter of Milton Franklin and Metta M. (Chestnut) Adams, who was born circa 1903 in Ohio. She was called Blanche. The couple divorced between 1930 and 1942. They had two daughters.

               444      v.    Harry William PENNEY was born 30 March 1900 in Concord Township, Miami County, Ohio, and died in 1954 at age 54. He was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Miami County, Ohio. Harry married Angie M. SCHAFFNER 15 February 1922 in Miami County. Angie, the daughter of Walter E. and Lydia J. (Neisonger) Schaffner, was born 18 December 1901 in Troy, Miami County. She died 8 August 1992 in Ohio at age 90, and was buried in Riverside Cemetery.

     George married Gertrude M. KUTCHER 4 June 1898 in Miami County. She was born in November 1878 in Ohio, the daughter of Ephraim and Martha (Loman) Kutcher of Butler Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, and died in 1963 at age 85. Gertrude was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

He was born 4 February 1893 in Union Township, Miami County, and died in that township 30 November 1929 at age 36. The cause of death was exposure and freezing probably due to intoxication. Thomas was buried 3 December 1929 in Curtis Cemetery, Union Township. The couple had daughters Ruby H., born circa 1918; and Bernice L., born circa 1920.

               448      ii.    Marjorie R. PENNEY was born 20 April 1908 in Fidelity, Miami County, Ohio, and died of liver cancer in Staunton Township in that county 29 December 1939 at age 31.      John married Naomi FERGUSON 7 October 1875 in Tama County, Iowa. Naomi was born 5 September 1849 in Wapsinonoc Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, the daughter of George and Amanda Ferguson, he of Pennsylvania and she of Kentucky. Also known as Oma, she died 29 December 1902 in Le Grand at age 53, and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

     Olive married 26 January 1871 in Marshall County Newell Marcus CROFUTT who was born 27 February 1853 in New Milford, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, the son of Ezra and Olive Eudorah (Parks) Crofutt. His sister Fannie married Olive's brother William Thompson (see #235 below). Newell died 24 January 1899 in Le Grand, Marshall County at age 45, and was buried 26 January 1899 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Sophia died 2 September 1945 in Gettysburg, Potter County at age 62, and was buried 5 September 1945 in Gettysburg Cemetery. On 25 June 1946 Henry married second Jane LEATHERMAN-MILLER. She was born in 1896 and died 25 September 1950 in South Dakota. Jane was buried 28 September 1950 in Gettysburg Cemetery.      William married first 26 July 1881 in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa Carrie GOODWIN who was born 19 October 1851 in West Virginia. She was married first to [–?--] Strong. Carrie died 14 January 1889 at age 37. He married second Fannie Eudorah CROFUTT 7 November 1889. She was born 6 June 1862 in Carroll County, Illinois, the daughter of Ezra and Olive Eudorah (Parks) Croffut. Her brother Newell married William's sister Olive Thompson (see #234 above). Fannie died 16 June 1944 in Deadwood at age 82, and was buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Myrl died 1 December 1968 in Aberdeen, Brown County, South Dakota at age 54. Rosa married second Frederick John SPAAR 3 February 1950 in Huron, Beadle County, South Dakota. Frank was born 28 February 1858 in Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin, the son of Ebenezer and Caroline (Ashton) Dann, he of England and she of New York. Frank died 12 August 1919 in Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon at age 61, and was buried 14 August 1919 in Mt. Union Cemetery, Philomath, Benton County. Frank married second Lizzie Hattie Hall, the daughter of Mose4s D. and Ellen (Foster) Hall 14 November 1894 in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa. She was born in July 1861 in Vermont. Frank and Lizzie had a son Glenn Hall, born 5 March 1898 in Marshall County.

James was born 27 March 1848 in Markleysburg, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, the son of Larkin and Sarah Ann (Thomas) Hall. He died 9 July 1923 in Duluth at age 75, and was buried in Becker Cemetery, Becker, Sherburne County, Minnesota.

               463      ii.    Julia Ardena HALL, also known as Ardena, was born 16 November 1881 in Tama County, Iowa. She died 8 August 1909 in Becker, Sherburne County, Minnesota at age 27, and was buried in Becker Cemetery. Ardena married Joseph LAMER 21 October 1902 in Sherburne County, and they had a daughter Elsie born 18 February 1908 who died 29 August 1909.

               464      iii.    Larkin L. D. HALL was born 29 November 1885 in Tama County, Iowa. He died 24 October 1948 in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota at age 62. On 11 October 1919 in Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota Larkin married Alma GISH who was born 11 February 1897 in Morrison County, Minnesota, the daughter of George W. and Minnie J. Gish. She died 24 October 1948 in Duluth. Their children were Walter, James, Mabel, Leroy, William, Leonard, Raymond, Larkin Jr., and Bessie.

               465     iv.    Lucius W. HALL was born 11 August 1888 in Tama County, Iowa, and died 13 June 1976 in Anoka, Anoka County, Minnesota at age 87. He was buried in Becker Cemetery, Becker, Sherburne County, Minnesota. Lucius married Marie FUCH 30 December 1911 in Sherburne County. She was born circa 1893 in Nebraska, and children were Fannie, Rosie, and Harry.

               466      v.    Mabel HALL was born 30 December 1890 in Iowa. She died 14 May 1957 in Seattle, King County, Washington at age 66. Mabel was the second wife of Henry Frederick Manz whose daughter Amelia married Mabel's brother Daniel Hall and whose son Clarence married Mabel's sister Bessie. Mabel and Henry married 12 April 1906. Henry was born 24 August 1867 in Germany and died 14 May 1946 in Duluth, St Louis County, Minnesota at age 78. His first wife was Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Moeller.

               467     vi.    Sarah HALL was born 14 January 1893 in Iowa, and died 21 October 1955 in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota at age 62. She was buried in Becker Cemetery, Becker, Sherburne County, Minnesota. On 9 July 1909 Sarah married David LEVERTON who was born 2 May 1882 in Minnesota, and died 28 February 1963 in Sherburne County. Their children were Doris M., Alvin L., and Lloyd.

               468    vii.    Fannie May HALL was born 19 December 1896 in Iowa. She died 21 August 1966 in Bay Lake, Crow Wing County, Minnesota at age 69, and was buried in Crystal Lake Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Fannie married first Edward ERICKSON 15 April 1912 in Sherburne County, Minnesota. She married second Emil K. MARTIS circa 1926 in Minnesota. He was born 16 February 1898 in Sweden and died 18 November 1960 in Cook County, Minnesota at age 62. Emil was buried in Cyrstal Lake Cemetery.

               469    viii.    Bessie Lee HALL was born 23 December 1901 in Minnesota and died 3 December 1982 in Finlayson Township, Pine County, Minnesota at age 80. She was buried in Oneota Cemetery, Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota.

Bessie married first Albert Leonard ERICKSON 11 October 1919 in Sherburne County, Minnesota, and Clarence MANZ 11 November 1923. He was born 15 October 1898 in Marshall County, Iowa, the son of Henry Frederick Manz who married Bessie's sister Mabel (see #466 above). Clarence died 27 August 1965 in Duluth at age 66, and was buried in Oneota Cemetery. Bessie and Clarence had a son Robert.

She died of a coronary thrombosis 2 November 1935 in West Milton, Miami County, Ohio at age 79, and was buried 4 November 1935 in Newcomer Cemetery, Franklin Township, Darke County.

     Louisa married 17 August 1876 in Miami County, Ohio Charles Filmore BUCKINGHAM who was born 21 June 1853 in New Windsor District,  Carroll County, Maryland. He was the son of Leonard Jackson and Sarah Elizabeth (Wilt) Buckingham, and brother of Jacob  Buckingham who married Louisa's sister Mary Belle (see #239 below) Charles died of a cerebral hemorrhage 14 May 1942 in El Dorado, Preble County, Ohio at age 88, and was buried 17 May 1942 in Newcomer Cemetery.

     Belle, as she was known, married 5 September 1884 in Miami County, Ohio Jacob Theodore BUCKINGHAM who was born 15 September 1856 in Terra County, Maryland. He died 21 May 1934 in Greenville, Darke County, Ohio at age 77, and was buried 24 May 1934 in Abbottsville Cemetery. Jacob was the son of Leonard and Mary (Wilt) Buckingham, and the brother of Charles Fillmore Buckingham who married Jacob's wife's sister Louisa (see #238 above)

242.  Albert⁵ B. PENNY (Francis A.⁴, John F.³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 1 May 1869 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died of prostate cancer 3 August 1946 in Delphos, Allen County, Ohio at age 77, and was buried 6 August 1946 in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos, Allen County, Ohio. At the time of death Albert was an employee of Delphos Bending Company.

     Albert married Martha Elizabeth STUTZ 21 February 1889 in Darke County. The daughter of Frederick and Sarah (Long) Stutz, she was born 14 August 1871 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio. Albert and Martha divorced some time before 1920. In the 1910 federal census  they were both enumerated in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio but in separate residences. Actually Albert was enumerated twice; once as Albert B. Penney, head of household, married 19 years, with his son Samuel, and the second time as Albert Penny, lodger, a widower, along with son Samuel, in the home of widow Mollie Hill.  In both instances he was a machinist. In the 1920 census Martha still resided in Columbus and was enumerated as divorced. With her was her youngest son Elijah, a machinist for a railroad shop. Albert in 1920 was a patient in the Toledo State Hospital in Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio. Martha remained in Columbus and died there 10 December 1949 at age 78 of bronchial pneumonia. She was buried 13 December 1949 in Union Cemetery in Columbus.

     Susan married 30 December 1880 in Darke County Bluferd WESTFALL, the son of James and Maria (Thomas) Westfall, who was born 25 October 1860 in Indiana. He died of edema of the brain contributed to by enlargement of the prostate 31 December 1938 in Monroe Township, Darke County at age 78, and was buried 3 January 1939 in Mote Cemetery.

Her husband Troy was the son of John and Emma (Mann) Welbaum, and was born 21 October 1881 in Ohio. He died at age 47 of advanced active pulmonary tuberculosis 2 May 1929 at the Clark County Tuberculosis Sanitorium in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio, and was buried 4 May 1929 in Mote Cemetery. The couple had children Ida May, born 4 June 1903 and died of pulmonary tuberculosis 4 January 1928 in Laura, Miami County, Ohio at age 25, who married W. Jennings HESS 24 April 1920;  Carl L., born 23 Dec 1904 and died 20 May 1954 at age 49; Bluford, born circa 1906; Ira F., born circa 1907; and Harold, born in1910.

               488      iii.    Luther WESTFALL was born 17 November 1886 and died of cardiac failure 11 December 1941 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 55. He was buried 14 December 1941 in Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg, Darke County, Ohio.  Luther married Imo SARVER 3 September 1908 in Darke County, and the couple had no children. She was born 26 May 1886 in Ohio, the daughter of Isaac and Susannah (Bazel) Sarver, and died 20 December 1964 in Miami County, Ohio at age 78. Imo was buried in Mote Cemetery.

               489     iv.    Dora WESTFALL was born 2 February 1888. She died of diabetes mellitus 18 February 1926 in Twin Township, Darke County, Ohio at age 38, and was buried 21 February 1926 in Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg, Darke County. On 31 March 1909 in Darke County Dora married Solomon WELLBAUM who was born 7 October 1887 in Gettysburg, Darke County, Ohio, the son of Silas and Sarah C. (Frock) Wellbaum. The couple had no children.

               490      v.    Emma WESTFALL was born in July 1890. She died 1 February 1902 in Darke County, Ohio at age 11, and was buried in Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg, Darke County, Ohio.

               491     vi.    John William WESTFALL was born 4 March 1894, and died 29 May 1965 in Darke County, Ohio at age 71. He was buried in Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg, Darke County. John married circa 1912 Maeretta 'Mae' C. [–?--] who was born in 1896 and died in 1957 at age 61. She was buried in Mote Cemetery. Their children were Catharine, born ca 1913; Norvel R., born 18 May 1916 and died 12 May 1999 at age 82, who was buried in Mote Cemetery; a son L.G., born circa 1922; and son True, born 19 August 1925 and died 31 May 2009 at age 83. In the 1920 federal census John was a butcher and in 1930 a dealer in livestock.

250.  Rachel⁵ HESS (Christina⁴ Penny, John F.³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 8 September 1867 in Darke County, Ohio, and married John George HARMAN 11 October 1890 in Darke County. She died 12 May 1897 in Ohio at age 29.

John, the son of Benjamin C. and Amanda (Riley) Harman, was born 30 October 1871 in Greenville, Darke County, Ohio. He died on 10 April 1936 in Akron, Summit County, Ohio at age 64. John married second 21 August 1897 in Darke County May Bookwalter.

Rachel had a son out of wedlock, whose father was unknown. Jesse Ora Hess was born 7 February 1886 in Darke County and married Margaret 'Maggie' ODA 14 November 1908 in that county. Maggie, the daughter of John Oda, was born in 1882 in Franklin Township, Darke County. The couple had no children, but were enumerated with an adopted daughter Helen Draving, age 8, in the 1930 federal census for Newton Township, Miami County, Ohio where Jesse was a farmer. Jesse died of bronchial pneumonia 24 January 1936 at age 49 in Piqua, Miami County, and was buried 28 January 1936 in Highland Cemetery, Covington, Miami County. Maggie died 24 February 1965 in Covington and was buried in Highland Cemetery.

Known children of Rachel⁵ HESS and John George HARMAN were as follows:

               492       i.    Goldie Opal⁶ HARMAN was born 10 September 1892 in Darke County, Ohio. In the 1910 federal census she was enumerated as a servant in the household of John W. Thomas  and with her was her six-month-old daughter Katherine Harman. Goldie had had two children, with one living. It would appear Katherine was born out of wedlock. Circa 1911 Goldie married Jacob MENGER who had been married previously 22 June 1899 in Montgomery County to Lena Winkler. Jacob was born 23 September 1863 in Dayton, Montgomery County to George and Elizabeth Menger. Goldie and Jacob had children Henrietta, born circa 1912; George Joseph, born 5 May 1913 and died 18 May 1993 at age 80 in McHenry County, Illinois, who married 5 March 1941 Laura Elizabeth BELL of Peoria County, Illinois; and Robert J., born circa 1918. Goldie and Jacob divorced between 1918 and 1920 and in the 1920 federal census Goldie was enumerated in the household of Benjamin and Grace R. Cooper where she did general housework. Her children Catherine, now Catherine Menger, Henrietta, George and Robert were enumerated as boarders in the household of Walter and Eleanor Kay in Mad River Township, Montgomery County. Jacob died 28 June 1936 of coronary disease in Dayton at age 72, and was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, on 1 July 1936. Goldie married second circa 1924 Orville Shumaker, who was born 6 April 1888 in Arcanum, Darke County, the son of John P. and Susan (Shaffner) Shumaker. He married first Lottie May Spitler, the daughter of Clarence and Mattie (Siler) Spitler, 1 March 1911 in Darke County. Lottie was born 6 May 1892 and died 28 February 1922 in Greenville. Orville died of chronic myocarditis 16 April 1945 in Greenville, Darke County at age 57, and was buried 19 April 1945 in Castine Cemetery in that county. Goldie died 16 September 1966 in Greenville at age 74, and was buried in Castine Cemetery.

252.  Margaret Linseta⁵ PENNY (Sarah Jane⁴, John F.³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born in October 1858 in Ohio. She died in 1922 in Miami County, Ohio, and was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Miami County.

     Margaret married 9 October 1879 in Darke County John Wallace LUCOUS, the son of William H. and Mariah (Banning) Lucous, who was born 20 June 1860 in Miami County. He died of myocarditis 25 February 1942 in Bradford, Miami County at age 81, and was buried 1 March 1942 in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

     Elvina married John H. WEYBRIGHT 16 April 1889 in Darke County. He was born 1 September 1858 in Ohio, the son of Benjamin and Lydia (Stoltz) Weybright, and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head 5 February 1909 in West Milton, Miami County at age 50. John was buried 7 February 1909 in Highland (Dunkard) Church Cemetery.

255.  Flora Ellen⁵ PENNY (Ralph⁴, John F.³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born on 15 May 1878 in Monroe Township, Darke County, Ohio, and died 18 February 1969 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 90. She was buried in Polk Grove Cemetery, Englewood, Montgomery County, Ohio.

     Flora married Dorsey Owen MACY 20 December 1899 in Miami County. Dorsey, also called Owen, was born 28 November 1871 in Montgomery County, and was the son of Silas and Philora (Beck) Macy. He died of a weakened heart following an appendectomy 23 November 1917 in Monroe Township, Miami County at age 45, and was buried 26 November 1917 in Polk Grove Cemetery.

Esther married 26 June 1926 in Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky Donald Henry MORGAN who was born 11 May 1909 in Montgomery County, Ohio. The couple divorced. He died 19 February 1969 in Troy at age 59.

               498      ii.    Silas Ralph MACY, also known as Ralph, was born 22 October 1901 in Union, Montgomery County, Ohio, and married Mabel Marie FREEZE 23 December 1925 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio. He died 18 February 1959 in Troy at age 57, and was buried in Riverside Cemetery in that city. Mabel, the daughter of Charles Edward and Ruby Myrtle (Carmen) Freeze, was born 7 September 1901 in Troy. Their known children were Nancy E. and Charles Owen, born 25 November 1941 and died in Troy 2 December 1941 of acute rhinitis and broncho-pneumonia. He was buried 4 December 1941 in Riverside Cemetery.

               499      iii.    Walter Everett MACY was born 28 November 1903 in Union, Montgomery County, Ohio, and married Thelma YOUNCE 28 November 1933 in Miami County, Ohio. He died 27 October 1986 in Darke County, Ohio at age 82.

The daughter of Elias Flory and Jennie Mae (Eby) Younce, Thelma was born 28 November 1909 in Montgomery County, and died 24 June 1999 in Dayton, Montgomery County at age 89.

               500     iv.    Clara Irene MACY was born 29 July 1906 in Union, Montgomery County, Ohio, and died 2 August 1995 in Miami County, Ohio at age 89. Circa 1926 she married Edwin Emerson DAVIDSON, the son of Harley Edwin and Alice A. (Funderburg) Davidson, who was born 23 May 1904 in Troy, Miami County. He died 25 April 1990 in that county at age 85.

               501      v.    Florence Lucille MACY was born 2 September 1909 in Union, Montgomery County, Ohio. She died 30 October 2005 in Miami County, Ohio at age 96. Florence married Robert Thomas PEARSON who was born 21 April 1909 in Miami County, the son of Theodore Webster and Anna (Harshman) Pearson. He died 10 July 1971 in Miami County  at age 62.

               502     vi.    Dorsey Orville MACY was born 29 May 1912 in Union, Montgomery County, Ohio. He died 29 December 1996 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 84, and was buried in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Miami County. Dorsey married Lillian Maxine PUCKETT who was born 30 August 1915 in Pleasant Hill, Miami County, the daughter of John L. and Ida Elizabeth (Landis) Puckett. She died 15 December 2010 in Troy at age 95.

               503    vii.    Ezra Burnell MACY was born 13 May 1915 in Ohio, and married Sara Carolyn STUDEBAKER. He died 18 January 1994 in Covington, Miami County, Ohio at age 78. He was also known as Burnelle per the 1930 federal census.

258.  John Wesley⁵ PENNY (Mercer B.⁴, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 2 March 1865 in Darke County, Ohio. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage 19 June 1920 in Staunton Township, Miami County, Ohio at age 55, and was buried 21 June 1920 in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Miami County.

     John married 25 July 1887 in Montgomery County Agnes Jennie HARE who was born 10 December 1871 in Ohio, the daughter of Thomas and Melissa A. (McDaniel) Hare. After John died Jennie, as she was known, married George F. Scott 24 March 1923 in Miami County. George was born 30 December 1866 in Fayette County, Ohio, the son of Laten F. and Susanna (Maddox) Scott. He died of a coronary thrombosis 22 November 1947 at age 80 in Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio, and was buried 23 November 1947 in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Jennie died after 1947.

               507     iv.    Iven Oscar PENNY was born 11 July 1898 in Covington, Miami County, Ohio, and married circa 1921 Mary A. REYNOLDS in Miami County. He died 25 June 1972 in Troy, Miami County at age 73, and was buried in Riverside Cemetery in Troy. Mary was born 26 May 1900 in Piqua, Miami County, the daughter of Hart and Edith (Drake) Reynolds. She died 10 November 1976 in Troy at age 76, and was buried in Riverside Cemetery.

259.  Conodyne⁵ PENNY (Mercer B.⁴, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹), known as Con and Conrad, was born 20 February 1867 in Painter Creek, Darke County, Ohio.  He died 11 June 1931 in the Dayton State Hospital, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, at age 64. The cause of death was general debility and apoplexy with contributing issues of manic depressive psychoses. Con was buried 14 June 1931 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County, Ohio.

     Con married Luella KINNISON, known as Ella, 17 September 1900 in Miami County. She was born in 1876 in Ohio, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Halterman) Kinnison, and died in 1954 in Ohio. Luella was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Miami County, Ohio. Con and Luella were divorced between 1910 and 1920.

260.  William E.⁵ PENNY (Mercer B.⁴, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 27 January 1869 in Franklin Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died in 1934 at age 65, and was buried in Potsdam Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County, Ohio.

     William married first Mina MOHLER who was born 24 January 1868 in Ohio, the daughter of Jacob and Phidilia (Deeter) Mohler. She died of vaginal cancer 11 June 1913 in Monroe Township, Darke County at age 45, and was buried 13 June 1913 in Potsdam Cemetery, Union Township, Miami County.

On 3 November 1914 in Miami County William married second Clara May CHAMBERS, the daughter of Bartholomew M. and Maria (Cox) Chambers, who was born 20 June 1870 in Logan County, Ohio. Clara married first Thomas E. Bryan 22 January 1891 in Shelby County, Ohio. He was born 23 April 1870 in Sidney, Shelby County, the son of Thomas and Sidney (English) Bryan, and died 5 February 1913 at age 42 in Piqua, Miami County. Thomas was buried 6 Feburary 1913 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua. Clara and Thomas had children William E., born in 1891; Hazel, born May 1892; Amelia, born in April 1894; Bessie, born in June 1895; Harry Jack, born 7 September 1896; Howard, born in February 1898; and Mabel, born in May 1900. Clara died of acute cardiac dilatation 5 May 1920 at age 49, and was buried 7 May 1920 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery.

261.  Simon W.⁵ PENNY (Mercer B.⁴, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 30 May 1872 in Franklin Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died of a gunshot wound through the abdomen 23 July 1926 in Greenville, Darke County at age 54, and was buried 25 July 1926 in Abbottsville Cemetery, Van Buren Township, Darke County. Simon was a policeman at the time of death. It is not known if his gunshot wound was in the line of service.

     Simon married Ida LONG 24 September 1892 in Darke County. Ida, born 2 November 1864 in Ohio, was the daughter of Jackson and Mary (Candle) Long and married first 3 March 1883 in Darke County Samuel Shields. The couple had a son Sylvan Sylvester Shields, born 31 August 1884 and died in December 1963 at age 79; and a daughter Mazy Shields, born in April 1891. A newspaper article dated 15 March 1906 stated that Simon's wife Ida filed a suit in the Common Pleas Court of Darke County against her husband Simon Penny to compel him to support her and their four children. The complaint said that in about May 1904 the defendant totally abandoned the plaintiff and their children and since had been living and cohabitating with Dora Shumaker [sic] in Darke County. Ida and Simon divorced and he married 19 February 1911 Dora Ann Shoemaker. She was born Dora Ann FOURMAN 14 May 1868 in Van Buren Township, Darke County, the daughter of Samuel and Lydia (Baker) Fourman. Dora married first John David Shoemaker 17 November 1888 in Delaware County, Indiana. John, the son of David Minnich and Leah (Deeter) Shoemaker, was born 16 August 1866 in that county, and died 24 September 1903 in Van Buren Township, Darke County at age 37. Dora died of cancer of the gall duct 27 May 1920 at age 52 and was buried as Dora A. Shoemaker with her first husband in Abbottsville Cemetery. John and Dora Shoemaker had children Ethel L., born in August 1889; Rayond I., born 30 September 1890; Goldie E., born in November 1891; Willis C., born in December 1892; Herman Lee, born 12 April 1894 and died 4 August 1873 at age 79; and Edna M., born in November 1895.

     Simon's first wife Ida died of acute enterocolitis 1 August 1917 in Newberry Township, Miami County, Ohio at age 52, and was buried 4 August 1917 in Abbottsville Cemetery.

Known children of Simon W.⁵ PENNY and Ida LONG were as follows:

               514       i.    Bonnie⁶ PENNY was born 2 May 1894 in Darke County, Ohio. She died before 1926.

               515      ii.    Elva J. PENNY was born 28 February 1896 in Van Buren Township, Darke County, Ohio, and married Anabelle CURTIS circa 1923 in Ohio. He died in 1959 in Denver, Denver County, Colorado at age 63, and was buried in Denver. Elva was living in Eldorado, Butler County, Kansas, at the time of his father's death in 1926. Anabelle was born circa 1903 in Darke County, the daughter of Volney and Katie Curtis, and died after 1959.

               516      iii.    Roy Orlando PENNY was born 22 August 1900 in Van Buren Township, Darke County, Ohio, and married circa 1919 Dora M. [--?--] who was born circa 1894 in Illinois. In the 1920 federal census the couple was enumerated in Barberton, Summit County, Ohio. Roy died 11 March 1977 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 77. The couple had a son Paul C., born 20 October 1920 and died in January 1980 at age 59.

264.  Harvey C.⁵ COATS (Elizabeth⁴ Penny, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 6 May 1862 in Ohio. He died of interstitial nephritis 14 November 1929 in Bradford, Miami County, Ohio at age 67, and was buried 17 November 1929 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County, Ohio.

     Harvey married first 26 May 1887 in Miami County Hulda E. THORNTON who was born in January 1864 in Willowdell, Darke County, Ohio. She died 22 January 1902 in Bradford, Miami County, and was buried in Harris Creek Cemetery.

On 28 September 1903 in Miami County Harvey married second Laura Eleanor STANSELL. She was born 14 September 1863 in Centerville, Montgomery County, Ohio, the daughter of Enoch and Caroline (Fox) Stansell. Laura married first Randall W. Robbins, born in May 1856 in England, but was divorced by 1900. The couple had children Jeanette, born in October 1882, who married A. J. Buhrman 15 March 1906 in Montgomery County; William, E., born 13 July 1890 in Randolph County, Indiana, who married Eva May Thornton 29 September 1909 in Miami County; and Ida May, born in December 1891, who married Harry C. Royer 15 September 1912 in Miami County. Laura died of a hemorrhaged duodenal ulcer 25 April 1951 in Greenville, Darke County at age 87, and was buried 28 April 1951 in Harris Creek Cemetery.

               519      ii.    Laura Lavina COATS was born 1 August 1899 in Bradford, Darke County, Ohio. She died 13 November 1938 of acute cholecystitis in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio at age 39, and was buried 16 November 1938 in Harris Creek Cemetery, Newberry Township, Miami County. Laura married Albert James GIBBONEY 14 August 1915 in Miami County. He was born 1 January 1888 in Bradford, the son of Samuel J. and Nancy Ann (Smith) Gibboney. Albert died 2 December 1961 at age 73 in Piqua. The couple had daughters Thelma H., born circa 1917; Eleanor E., born in 1919; and Marcella J.

There were no known children of Harvey C.⁵ COATS and Laura Eleanor STANSELL.

274.  Ira Charleston⁵ PENNEY (Benjamin Harrison⁴, Henry³ Penny, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 15 February 1875 in Franklin Township, Darke County, Ohio, and married Etta A. SHAW 8 August 1894 in Montgomery County, Ohio. He died of arteriosclerotic heart disease 5 December 1946 in Dayton, Montgomery County at age 71, and was buried 7 December 1946 in Shiloh Cemetery, Montgomery County. At the time of death his occupation was given as fireman.

Etta was born in January 1874 in Clay Township, Montgomery County, the daughter of Francis Marion and Sarah Louisa (Smith) Shaw. She died after 1946.

275.  Ulysses S.⁵ PENNEY (Benjamin Harrison⁴, Henry³ Penny, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 9 January 1885 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, and died 2 January 1938 in Cleveland Heights, Cuyahoga County, Ohio at age 52. The cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning from automobile fumes in a garage at the rear of 3173 Whitehorn Avenue.      Ulysses married 19 June 1904 in Montgomery County Pearl M. PANSING, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Shelly) Pansing, who was born 29 July 1884 in Philipsburg, Montgomery County. She died 22 January 1964 in Cleveland Heights and was buried in Lake View Cemetery.

She died of uremic poisoning, chronic Bright's disease 1 September 1917 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 52, and was buried 5 September 1917 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.

     Amanda married Peter LAYER 4 February 1886 in Miami County. He was born in January 1859 in Ohio, the son of John and Sarah Layer. Amanda and Peter divorced between 1888 and 1895 and he married Susie A. Berry 30 May 1896 in Clark County, Ohio and they lived in Springfield, Clark County in the 1900 census where he was an iron planer. Susie was born in April 1874. Peter died in 1907 at age 48 in Clark County, and was buried in Enon Cemetery there.

     David married first Ida Bell FRY 18 November 1886 in Darke County. She was born 8 December 1869 in that county, the daughter of William and Susanna (Stiles) Fry. Ida died 6 July 1893 in Bradford, Miami County at age 23. On 19 April 1896 in Darke County David married second Flora B. WELBAUM, the daughter of Silas and Sarah C. (Frock) Welbaum. She was born 17 March 1878 in Franklin Township, Darke County, and died 26 February 1962 in Miami County at age 83.

Freeman, who was born in 1912 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio and died there 21 September 1975 at age 63. Dorothy died 3 September 2004 in Piqua at age 86. Both were buried in Forest Hill Union Cemetery in Piqua.

She died of a cerebral hemorrhage 11 January 1951 in Springcreek, Miami County, Ohio at age 80, and was buried 15 January 1951 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County. Lovina married first Guy SHAFFER 5 November 1886 in Miami County, Ohio (His name given as Clarence Shaffer on daughter's marriage record.). It is likely the couple divorced and she married second Elmer E. VAN TUYL 25 December 1898 in Piqua. Elmer was born 19 August 1861 in Troy, Miami County, the son of Henry M. and Mary Frances (Somerville) Van Tuyl, and died of diabetes mellitus 3 February 1945 in Piqua at age 83. He was buried 6 February 1945 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery. Elmer, a house painter and decorator, married first Mary Ann Boze, the daughter of David Lindsay and Letticia (Strait) Boze, 1 December 1881 in Miami County. She was born 10 March 1870 in Jackson Township, Darke County.

279.  William E.⁵ PENNY (Beverly W.⁴, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 5 July 1872 in Van Buren Township, Darke County, Ohio. He died 25 July 1903 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 31.

     On 27 March 1892 in Darke County William married Millie BOTTORFF, the daughter of John and Mary (Daugherty) Bottorff. She was born 31 July 1870 in Covington, Miami County, Ohio. After William's death Millie married John Frank Strome 30 July 1910 in Miami County. Frank, as he was called, was divorced and a boarder in Millie's home before their marriage. He was born in March 1868 in Miami County, the son of Josephus and Cynthia (Hughes) Strome. Frank died 28 December 1921 at age 53 in Dayton State Hospital; cause of death general paralysis of the insane. He was buried 30 December 1921 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County. Millie married third George Frank Stoker 25 November 1925 in Miami County. He was born 31 July 1866 in Piqua, the son of John Enoch and Margaret (Hughes) Stoker, and was married previously 12 October 1886 to Anna Hann. George died 10 October 1931 of pneumonia in Piqua, and was buried 12 October 1931 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery. Millie died of acute myocarditis 17 November 1942 at age 72, and was buried 20 November 1942 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery.

Records in 1906 indicate that his father was now dead and that Harry was transferred to the Institute for the Feeble-Minded in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. It was here he died of tuberculosis 23 February 1921 at age 20. Harry was buried 24 February 1921 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio.

280.  Mary Etta⁵ PENNY (Beverly W.⁴, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 25 August 1874 in Bradford, Miami County, Ohio.  She died of acute indigestion 2 August 1932 in Piqua, Miami County at age 57, and was buried 4 August 1932 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County.

     Mary Etta married 24 September 1893 in Darke County, Ohio William Elias BUCKINGHAM who was born 8 February 1873 in Hollansburg, Darke County, the son of Harvey and Ellen Louise (Kircher) Buckingham. He died from multiple causes including myocarditis and nephritis 17 February 1938 in Piqua at age 65. William was buried 21 February 1938 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery. He was a farmer in the1910 federal census, a laborer on the railroad in 1920, and in 1930 a driller in a stove foundry.

The couple had children Joseph Henry, born 16 February 1916 and died 26 May 1989 at age 73; Evelyn Lucille, born 7 March 1918 and died 6 October 1997 at age 79, who married Harold BASHORE; Robert Thomas; Ruby Elizabeth, born 29 July 1922 and died 16 January 2012 at age 89, who married John Paul SMITH; Lester Leroy, born 14 September 1925 and died 28 May 1980 at age 54; Rosella Ruth, born 14 January 1928 and died 1 November 1999 at age 71; Betty Eileen, born 10 May 1930 and died 4 May 1931; Juanita Maxine, born 4 July 1932 and died 10 July 1998 at age 66, who married Harold BALMERT and Douglas BAILEY; Fern Louise, born 27 November 1934 and died 1 March 1935; Viola Jean, born 13 February 1936 and died 2 February 1992 at age 55; and Lilie Irene, born 9 November 1939 and died 23 February 2002 at age 62, who married James Richard DICKEY. Lula married first 27 July 1917 in Piqua George Washington GRAY, the son of Thomas W. and Lucretia (Davis) Gray. He was born 15 July 1898 in McConnellsville, Morgan County, Ohio, and died 27 April 1968 in Piqua at age 69. George was buried 30 April 1968 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery. Lula married second circa 1969 Charles A. WOOD, born 7 November 1896 and died 10 May 1975 at age 78. He was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery. She was buried 13 January 1953 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County. On 9 November 1918 in Miami County Nora married first Basilio C. NATOLI, Jr., the son of Basilio C., Sr. and Carmelo (Baggio) Natoli, who was born 31 May 1896 in Italy. The couple divorced some time between 1920 and 1930 and Nora married second Charles Duain OWEN. He was born 15 March 1905 and died 8 January 1973 at age 67. Charles was buried 11 January 1973 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery. He was the informant on Nora's death certificate. Nora's first husband Basilio, also known as Bill, died 24 February 1958 in Piqua at age 61.

282.  Charles Porterfield⁵ PENNY (Beverly W.⁴, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 25 March 1879 in Bradford, Miami County, Ohio. He died of angina pectoris 3 June 1949 in Piqua, Miami County at age 70, and was buried 6 June 1949 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery in Piqua.

     Charles married first 13 August 1901 in Miami County Rosa B. BRENNER who was born 20 December 1884 in Darke County, Ohio, the daughter of William and Lucretia Anna (Murray) Brenner. She died before 1910. A child, no given name written, was recorded in Miami County probate court records as born to Charles Penny and Rose Brenner 8 March 1902 in Piqua.

On 20 March 1910 in Miami County Charles married second Rosa CURTIS, the daughter of Jeremiah and Mina J. (Fritz) Curtis. She was born 30 October 1890 in Darke County. Rosa had a son Othel Sylvester Wagner, born 18 January 1909, who was mentioned as a stepson in Charles' obituary. Othel married Thelma Boggs, the daughter of Charles and Sylvia (Asher) Boggs, who was born 4 July 1917 and died 24 February 1980 in Versailles, Darke County at age 62. Othel died 3 May 1996 in Piqua at age 87.

Charles married third Onda Mae UNGER 2 July 1929 in Miami County. The daughter of John and Lydia (Seman) Unger, she was born 12 April 1891 in Greenville, Darke County. Onda married first William E. Hahn and had a daughter Mary R. born in 1919 in Darke County.

285.  William Nelson⁵ WEAVER, Jr. (Mary Ann⁴ Penny, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 2 November 1867 in Darke County, Ohio. He died of chronic myocarditis  23 August 1940 in Pikeville, Darke County at age 72, and was buried 25 August 1940 in Stelvideo Cemetery, Richland Township, Darke County. William was a car repairman for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

     He married first Catherine V. BOYER 11 October 1897 in Darke County. She was born 2 April 1878 in that county, the daughter of Michael Francis and Mary Ellen (Ringer) Boyer, and died of cervical cancer 28 July 1952 in Greenville, Darke County at age 74. Catherine was buried 31 July 1952 in Stelvideo Cemetery. William and Catherine divorced some time around 1920 and she married Thomas O. Bailey who was born 28 September 1869 in Hilliard, Franklin County, Ohio, the son of George and Mary (Hewitt) Bailey. The couple and her daughter Imogene Weaver were enumerated in the 1930 census in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky where Thomas was a railroad engineer. He died of a cerebral hemorrhage 30 Jun 1950 in Greenville at age 80, and was buried 4 July 1950 in Stelvideo Cemetery.

William married second Anna SCHAFFER 24 March 1921 in Miami County, Ohio. She was born 22 November 1872 in Noble Township, Auglaize County, Ohio, the daughter of John and Julia (Snyder) Schaffer, and died of an intestinal obstruction 12 February 1941 in Piqua at age 68. Anna was buried 14 February 1941 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery in Piqua. Anna married first circa 1893 George Wilcox, who was born 30 August 1852 in Illinois and died of stomach cancer 20 March 1920 in Piqua at age 57. He was buried 23 March 1920 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery.

She married first Victor Dewey BOLTIN who was born 5 July 1898 in Indiana, the son of Victor E. and Minnie (Butt) Boltin, and died 1 April 1943 in Greenville at age 44. Beatrice married second [–?--] BOWMAN. Both Beatrice and Victor were buried in Stelvideo Cemetery, Richland Township, Darke County.

               563      iii.    Jesse Lee WEAVER was born 24 May 1907 and died at age 81 on 29 September 1988 in Kettering, Montgomery County, Ohio. He was buried in Memorial Park, Dayton, Montgomery County. Also known as Lee, he married in 1923 Sarah N. HARTLEY, who was born in 1903 and died in 1987 at age 84, and they had daughters Mary Katherine, Nancy L. and Elizabeth.

               564     iv.    Imogene L. WEAVER was born 25 May 1913, and died 23 March 1989 in Ohio at age 75. Imogene married James H. ALLISON who was born in 1907 in Indiana and died In February 1968 at age 61. Both Imogene and James were buried in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County, Ohio

She died of a cerebral hemorrhage 19 May 1928 in Washington Township, Miami County, Ohio at age 54, and was buried 21 May 1928 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery, Piqua, Miami County.

     Laurinda, also known as Linda, married 4 January 1893 in Darke County George Washington EBBERTS, the son of George M. and Lucinda (Furnas) Ebberts, who was born 6 January 1872 in Miami County. He died of a coronary thrombosis 10 October 1945 in Covington, Miami County at age 73, and was buried 15 October 1945 in Forest Hill Union Cemetery. George married next after 1930 Hannah Mae [--?--] who was living at the time of his death in 1945. She was the informant on his death cert.

In the 1930 federal census he was enumerated as Miami County sheriff.

He died 27 March 1976 in Celina, Mercer County, Ohio at age 79, and was buried in Burdge Cemetery, Montezuma, Mercer County. Arthur married first 9 February 1918 in Miami County Donna K. SCHUTTE, the daughter of John and Katherine (Eitel) Schutte, who was born 24 April 1897 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio, and died there 15 February 1971 at age 73. Arthur married second Bessie H. [–?--], who was born 29 July 1900 in Indiana, and died 28 December 1982 in Mercer County at age 82. Bessie was buried in Burdge Cemetery.

He died of a coronary thrombosis 17 August 1942 in Bradford, Miami County, Ohio at age 65, and was buried 19 August 1942 in Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg, Darke County. Alva was a locomotive engineer.

     On 24 May 1908 in Gettysburg Alva married Clara Elizabeth MORRIS who was born 28 February 1883 in that village. She died 15 June 1974 in Darke County at age 91, and was buried in Gettysburg Cemetery.

               567       i.    Morris⁶ ADDINGTON was born 18 January 1910, and died of a bowel disorder 26 July 1921 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio, at age 11. He was buried 28 July 1921 in Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg, Darke County, Ohio. His name was given as Morris Addington on his death certificate, but the 1900 census has Alva Morris.

               568      ii.    William Ridgeley ADDINGTON was born 10 November 1911. He died 6 February 1997 in Worcester County, Maryland at age 85. He was also known as Ridgeley. William married Alice P. NEEL 3 November 1934 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.

294.  Venga Fern⁵ ADDINGTON (Susannah⁴ Penny, Henry³, Christiana² Hunt, Ralph¹) was born 22 July 1890 in Miami County, Ohio.  She died 21 May 1931 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 40, and was buried 25 May 1931 in Dayton Memorial Park, Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.

In the 1910 federal census Venga was enumerated as a servant in the home of William H. Bush, age 30, railroad train master in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio. Circa 1912 she married first William Winslow BABCOCK, Jr., who was born in 1854 in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio, the son of William Winslow, Sr., and Lucy Edna (Waterman) Babcock. William was married first to Henrietta M. Beebe 28 January 1880 in Marietta. He died of valvular heart disease 17 January 1918 in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio, and was buried 20 January 1918 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Marietta.

Venga married second 6 April 1918 in Troy, Miami County Sylvester Oliver GOENS. He was born 9 July 1885 in Versailles, Darke County and was the son of David and Mary Ann (Fletcher) Goens. Sylvester died of toxic nephritis and respiratory failure 17 March 1932 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio at age 46, and was buried 19 March 1932 in Dayton Memorial Park.

               569       i.    Ruth Louise⁶ BABCOCK was born 29 December 1913, and married Clifford H. BANNING 13 June 1934 in Miami County. She died 28 December 2001 in Piqua, Miami County at age 89, and was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery. Clifford was born 31 March 1908 in Piqua, the son of William and Laura Banning. He died 9 February 1990 in that city at age 81, and was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery.

               570      ii.    Betty Ann BABCOCK was born 28 February 1917. She died 30 March 1996 at age 79 in Coshocton, Coshocton County, Ohio. Betty married 9 April 1951 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio Clarence WILLIAMS who was born 24 September 1899 and died 19 June 1971 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 71. Both were buried in Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington, Miami County.

               571       i.    Mary Jane⁶ GOENS was born 3 January 1919. She died 11 May 2000 in Ohio at age 81, and was buried in Memory Gardens, Coshocton, Coschocton County, Ohio. Mary married Gloster E. MYERS 26 March 1946. He was born 26 May 1917 in Newcomerstown, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and died 12 June 1989 in Coshocton at age 72. Gloster was buried in Memory Gardens Memory Gardens.

               572      ii.    Alice Faye GOENS was born 27 January 1920, and died 20 February 2009 in Anchorage, Anchorage County, Alaska at age 89. She was buried in Fort Richardson National Cemetery, Anchorage. Alice married Herschel Charles ELKINS 27 June 1944 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio. He was born 22 October 1919 in West Jersey Township, Stark County, Illinois, the son of McClellan and Celia (Reeves) Elkins, and died 9 November 2002 in Anchorage at age 83. Herschel was buried in Fort Richardson National Cemetery.

               573      iii.    Dorothy Maxine GOENS was born 12 February 1921, and died 23 April 2007 in Covington, Miami County, Ohio at age 86. She was buried in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. Dorothy married first Charles Edward SMITH 15 January 1941 in Mexico. Charles was born 11 June 1890 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio, the son of Albertus and Catharine (Baggott) Smith, and died in October 1954 at age 64. Dorothy married second Paul Emerson RICE 15 January 1956 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. He was born in 1918, the son of Clarence Edwin and Bessie Lova (Rapp Fletcher) Rice, and died 3 October 1961 in Dayton at age 43. Paul was buried in Miami Memorial Park.

               574     iv.    Robert Raymond GOENS was born 9 February 1922. He died 17 February 2007 in South Carolina at age 85, and was buried in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida. Robert married Margaret PATON in Dumbarton, Scotland 7 AprIL 1945. She was born 17 June 1923 and died 22 September 2003 in South Carolina at age 80.. Robert retired from the United States Navy in 1966 in Pensacola where he resided for 37 years. While serving in the Navy, Robert was involved in numerous battles and received numerous awards. He served on the USS Hull DD350 during the attacks on Pearl Harbor. He also fought in the Invasion of Normandy, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Korean War and Vietnam War. His medals received during his service in the U.S. Navy include the American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Navy Occupational Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Robert was a lifetime member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the Pearl Harbor Survivors.

               575      v.    David Eugene GOENS was born 2 May 1924. He died 13 August 1981 in Loma Linda, San Bernardino County, California at age 57, and was buried in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside County, California. David married 16 August 1952 in Long Beach, California Margaret Patricia GERBRACH who was born 30 October 1926 and died 21 September 2005 at age 78. She was buried in Riverside National Cemetery. The couple resided in Yucaipa, San Bernardino County.

               576     vi.    Sylvester GOENS was born 10 March 1926. He died 8 August 1995 in Port Isabell, Cameron County, Texas at age 69. Sylvester married[--?--] PENA.

               577    vii.    Lawrence Earl GOENS was born 25 March 1928, and died 25 January 2002 in Sierra Vista, Cochise County, Arizona at age 73. He married Yasuko NAKAMURA.

               578    viii.    Delores Fern GOENS was born 21 May 1931, and died 29 October 2002 in Troy, Miami County, Ohio at age 71. She married [–?--] ROSS.
